My stock has a cheek rest, yet I manage to strap this on and it's working fine. I went through 40 shots with it at the range, and needed to readjust string tension a couple of times. It takes a little bit of learning to get the string tension right and keep the riser from sliding. Using a small string tension lock (not supplied) you could find around the house would work much better than trying to tie the two ends together. Best with a regular stock, with no cheek rest.

It's OK for the price I paid. The pad is hard as a rock but others than that it's OK.

I mounted this on a friend's M1A to raise eye level to the optic axis of the scope. It is comfortable. It doesn't slip or move once it is laced up tight. It is light weight. It is an inexpensive solution to raising the comb height. I would rather not need to raise the comb height, but it is necessary if you want to mount a scope on the M1A receiver. This can be avoided if you replace the factory forend cover with an Ultimak rail and then mount a long eye relief scope on it. This mount lowers the optic axis and avoids the need for a cheek riser.

The fit was good and tight, but I did rubberize the top of the stock before installation to make sure it wouldn't shift around.

With the nylon bottom, it's doesn't stay in place perfectly on a slick stock. If the stock is were rubberized, it will hold its position a lot better. I'll probably give this one away and spend the money on a better model.
