Sitting here, even 3 years after it's debut, this phone was quite a surprise when I popped that tape seal we all have learned to love. 3.5"mm headphone jack, extremely fast data, PERFECT keyboard, super-duper screen(and auto-dim according to ambient light), trackball, extra-long battery life (can go two days without charging if I don't stream Pandora or Slacker radio), need I say more? The only CON that I have found is the interface is extremely slow at times, especially when dealing with any type of photos or graphics (camera, photo gallery, changing wallpaper, attaching pictures to txts and emails, etc, etc.). And, as with all BlackBerries, a painfully slow boot time, which sucks if you're a microSD swapper like me (the 8330's microsd is under the battery). Only bad thing so far I can say about this phone is the battery life is a POS you defiantly need to have an extended batter for this phone so that will prob be my next purchase. Within 1 hour of using (setting it all up with my apps and messing with facebook for a few) I lost half of the battery life! Sucked! Doesn't defer me from the phone though! I love it!
immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone..but there was only one problem i didn't realize that us cellular was a carrier so i cannot use the phone so im selling it to someone that has that carrier..
Works great. This was a downgrade from the 9330 I was using it is a bit slower and don't like the different style trackball as much but still a good phone for the money. Was able to transfer my data easily via Blackberry Desktop Manager. Good Buy!
I baught Blackberry 8830 as I was in need for a good handset without camera. I would say that this is really good deal if you are looking for an Blackberry without camera. I yet to get used to it as this is my first BB. Please consider the time taken in shipping as 25-30 days as there are chances more often than expected that this will take time to get custom clearance if the shipping is done out of India.
