played microsoft links 2003 for awhile and wanted a better golf sim...this is much better, but, you need strong enough computer hardware for the game to run correctly...1 gb ram, 256 mb.video card, and decent processor is necessary..(game outlines less minimum requirements but trust me, you'll need this much to enjoy the game)..love the challenges of starting as hack and working your way up..dont get frustrated and be careful, game seems to bring you back to earth if your doing really well so dont lose focus or get too aggressive..love the true swing with the mouse, but, all mouses are different so it takes some time to get the "feel" of your particular mouse...one negative I have found is that when I wind up with a lie surrounded by brush, bushes, or other heavy stuff, sometimes I cant hit out..wind up taking 10 shots and conceding hole..have lost tournaments this way..whatever I did, I couldnt get out of the lie I was in...very frustrating...commentators are annoying too, just shut them off in options menu, they say the same thing over and over and just annoy and distract you...galleries are worthless, too, same people dressed the same way...courses are nice, much better than links 2003, they actually differ from course to course inasmuch as hazards, slopes, greens, etc..lots of different ways to play, also, which is nice...havent tried online feature yet, not good enough...love the options to create your golfer...infinite amount of choices to make your golfer to look any way you want him/her to..good game, overall, for beginners or experienced golfers, the more you know about golf the better the experience probably is although a beginner can still have fun...overall recommend and I'll likely purchase newer editions eventuallyRead full review
In this game you are a deity. You can be good or evil (hence the title Black & White). You also get a creature/titan to help you out. You are to convert villagers through love or fear and establish your reign against other gods. Not only do you have to maintain your worshippers but you also have to raise your creature to do your will. This takes a lot of time and skill. It actually pays to be a good deity. Wood is a hard resource to acquire quickly, so be careful when destroying villages, they are hard to rebuild. From a Christian perspective this game is a little new agey. The game starts off saying in a land of innocence a god is not needed and they are created by praying to one. There are also some references to the ying/yang. Another thing I found it awkward having the villagers worship me. One thing I must admit, I have been convicted not to play this game anymore. I was uncomfortable with the idea of villagers making sacrifices to gods including the one you portray. The last thing to consider would be violence if you are a bad deity. The game play is real fun. This game took three years to make, so my expectations were high. The graphics are beautiful. The sounds are good. The controls are a little tricky and takes some getting used to. You can multiplay this game and even play online. On the downside, there are some bugs in the game. There is a patch out though. Hopefully that fixed them. From a Christian standpoint, don't play this if you are uncomfortable being treated like a god.Read full review
Game Play 4 of 5 stars Graphics 4 of 5 stars Sound 4 of 5 stars A.I. 3 of 5 stars Pros: Cons: Overall: This is a good title and will provide several hours of entertainment. Had to install an automatic update to allow the game to resume from pause mode after a saved game load. Please note: this title was reviewed using a Dell XPS Gen 4, P4 HT @ 3.20 GHz, 4 Gig RAM, Dual 160 SATA RAID(0) hard drives and a nVidia GeForce 6800 256mb PCIe video adapter. It is important to read and understand the minimum and recommended system requirements for any PC video game. Systems that are faster than the minimum may provide significantly better performance and improve your gaming experience. Some PC video games list specific video card requirements and will not function without. It is also important to mention (because we sell video games on ebay) that we do not sell titles as NEW once they are opened and installed for testing. Most test games find a home with one of our testors (employees) and in rare circumstances, we will sell clearly marked as opened and used.Read full review
This is easily the best and most realistic golf game out there. In typical EA Sports tradition, they've developed the best game for golf. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 runs extremely well on the PC which makes it really easy to play online with your friends. Use Skype and you can trash talk your friends on every hole. Like all other golf games, there are literally dozens of players and courses you can choose from (including, of course, Tiger Woods and Pebble Beach). However, the graphics and gameplay are superior in this game. I play a lot of golf and this is the most realistic game I've ever played. It takes into account your tempo, touch, feel, etc. by simulating a golf swing through movements on the mouse. It's not just drives and iron shots, but chipping, putting, etc. are also very realistic. When playing online against your friends, you can continue to hit your shots without having to wait on them. This is great because we all know how it feels to be stuck behind a slow, bad golfer. Overall, I would highly recommend this game.Read full review
I really like the idea of being able to put together a tour of my own. With a small download from the net you can make up your own tour using what ever courses you want. You can set the name of tournaments, how many rounds, the purse, how many players, and where the cuts are. The reason I boought this game again is that I had it once before and when Tiger Woods 2008 came out I got rid of 2006. I did not care for TW2008 because the extra mode play I just did not like. I do like the extra mode play with TW2006 goin gthrough the differant eras.
