We have three of these in the house. Her shop, my shop and in the kitchen. This unit is tough, easy to use; and one of them are used daily. Our workshops wouldn't be without one...puts the competition to shame. Unfortunately, B & D didn't think to incorporate a means of hanging it up. I came up with a large round key ring worked into the holes below the handle...works like a charm attached to a screw in cup holder screwed into the wall. You'll love its power!

The batteries on these things rarely make it to 2 years. Last one I had died at month 15. One before that , month 22. Replacement batteries cost $40 plus. Be advised that B&D does not honor their 2 year warranty on these units if purchased on Ebay. "New" unit I just bought on Ebay in 2018 was made in 2012. So I get a 6 year old battery right from the start. It's working fine right now but not expecting much down the line.

Love that it pivots to a more compact size to store. Works well. suction is good for a hand held, but the nozzle is narrow (probably because it telescopes to reach into tight areas) making it necessary to make several passes to clean an area of any size. I purchased it to clean up seeds under my parrot's cage, and it really does the trick. I no longer have to haul out the full sized vac for this job. Holds a charge and the cordless feature is great. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.
We've been Dustbuster fans since the 1980's. They get daily use in our household & last several years --- the secret is charging properly, in addition to cleaning filters regularly. Powerful suction! Comparable to giant commercial vacuums at the car wash, amazing coming from a mere four pound hand held! My favorite feature is how the dust container & filters separate & open, making cleaning/maintenance even easier! And I like how there are no parts to lose: the brush tool is built in, merely swivels & snaps into place when you need it, works great! Also the extension wand slides out and locks, giving a few more inches for tight places. There is no wall mount station (good thing, as it reduces temptation to constantly charge --- a death sentence to the poor battery pack!) I like the blue prism LED crystal on the vacuum itself that indicates when charging. The light turns off after complete, the manual said no worries about overcharging. We learned for best battery life to use the Dustbuster for days until it starts sounding sluggish, then and only then put it on a charge. Occasionally let it run until totally drained, then charge to the max. That is why it I like to have a second Dustbuster to use while the other one is charging. The other important maintenance factor is cleaning the filters and dust chamber at least monthly or more. We happen to have an air compressor to blow out the filter which make it a snap, but any filter cleaning will help it "breathe" to push air through, thus maintaining the life of your Dustbuster. We made the mistake of trying another brand that was on sale: worthless, ended up being a big waste of money! Now highly recommend sticking to Black & Decker, so far so good!Read full review

Pros: Easy to use for quick clean up of small messes. Handy for small spaces. Cons: Batteries on former unit lasted about 1 year, but replacements are more costly than a new unit. I recommend running batteries completely dead before recharging, because the batteries do develop a charging memory over time. Previous unit would only hold 10v charge in 18v battery pack after about 1 year of use.
