4 out of 5 stars. A worthy investment. #1-Opening night and #3-Piano tooners have excellent flapper music and raw graphics. You can tell these people were learning their trade. The Fleischer cartoons, particularly #2-The Cobweb Motel, are the most pleasing. (Listen for the theme song to "Popeye" at the end...) #12- Molly is an amazingly colored cartoon. On a big screen it rivals anything done today, in my opinion. As a collector of '30's antiques, I enjoyed this collection, even though they didn't seem "bizarre" to me.
It is a good DVD to highlight older cartoons with great hand drawn art and funny. People now forget its a cartoon. HAND DONE

I only rated it Good as the transfer to DVD left something to be desired, but it is one of the best transfer jobs of these public domine cartoons that I have seen. The secletion is very nice and it sure shows how open minded the cartoons were of that period, well worth the money,
I'd been looking for Oldies but Goodies cartoons for a while and came across these. I got the DVD a lot faster than expected I imagined and of course open it right way. It was just how explained. I really got them for me and my grandson to enjoy together.
These classic animated shorts from the early days of sound were created nearly forgotten production pioneers and these films are the fabulous forerunners of every cartoon we've watched on TV. Thank you
