I was interested to see what the authors gave as information on the subject.In any good discussion, you find those for and those against. I am not sure that the "those against" produced good enough evidence to prove these things never happened. I would've liked to see a more scientific evidence and some more explanation of the biblical aspects of the scenarios. What about the fact that Sodom and Gomorroh was situated on an asphalt fault and the close environment of volcanoes ? What the about the implications of the release of God's restraining powers on the elements allowing them to be destructive. The bible says that "the wages of sin is death"(Romans 6:23)....."sin whenever it is finished, produces death" James 1:15, last part. In the light of God's character, God's wrath is the hiding of his face from a particular situation/person , and since nothing can exist without the sustainment of the Divine power of God,destruction will follow.
