You could sit down and browse through this book just for the stories and pictures. Recipe directions are thorough and easy to follow, as well as authentically delicious. I originally purchased this years ago but lost it during a recent move, and was thrilled to be able to replace it!

This is an excellent source of American History, Art, Photography and Recipes. We purchased our first copy in 1976 as record of the Bicentennial of America. I should have purchased 3 at that time as it never dawned on me that all 3 of my children would want to have this recipe book in their homes as a part of our family heritage and as a teaching tool for my grandchildren. My grandchildren have used the educational matterials in the book for their school reports and to learn more about the different American Holidays and the history of the states. This is a wonderful coffee table book/conversation starter because of the beautiful stories and photography. This book teaches our children and grandchildren the history and geography that the American Schools are failing to teach. This is the 4th copy I have purchased because my husband wanted to keep our copy and my 3 children each wanted a copy. This is a great book and a great resource.
