I became a part of the Troll II phenomenon earlier this year, when I decided to watch the film deemed 'Worst Film of all Time' by, well, everyone. And it was just that--it was TERRIBLE. So terrible it was amazing. Now this film, a documentary about the Z-List 'celebrities' that starred in the movie came out, and I knew I had to see it. I am so glad that I did. It was raw, surprising, interesting, and just made you want to smile to realize that these people are just trying to lead normal lives and leave the tragedy that is most of their first acting experiences behind them. It was fascinating. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has seen Troll II, and if you haven't seen it, watch it first!
First off, I love the movie Troll 2. Watching it is a unique experience to say the least, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a chance. The Best Worst Movie is a documentary filmed by Michael Stephenson, who played Joshua, the leading character in Troll 2. He could not have done a better job putting this documentary together. The film pulls you in immediately, connecting you with its leading role George Hardy, who played Michael Waits in Troll 2. He truly is a lovable person and its obvious that people adore him from what is seen in the film. It’s amazing to see almost every character from Troll 2 today, and how they react to their film. It’s a documentary that will make you laugh with the characters, and feel for them in ways you’d find suppressing. It’s also astonishing to see what a phenomenon Troll 2 has become, and how the actors (and director) of the film react to its overwhelming increase in popularity. It’s a film I would definitely recommend watching, and it’s a must see for those who are fans of Troll 2.Read full review
This is one of the best documentaries of the last decade. It's a shame it's not available in the Netherlands, but thanks to ebay and such, and thanks to the guys from this dvd (who made it region free) I was able to get this dvd for a great price. If you want to know what its about, just check out IMDb or the main site. This dvd is a must for every Horror, B-movie and cult classic enthousiast. One minor point for me was (because I'm dutch) is that the movie wasn't subtitled (except for the Itallian parts from the director). The extra's were also great and give you some more backdrop from the movie troll and the director and such. My tip: everybody should check out this great documentary, even if it was only for George Hardy, the dentist from Utah, who played the father in Troll 2. This man should be a role model for everybody who walks on planet earth. Hope that this little review made you decide to buy this great dvd!Read full review
