The Corona Virus rules at the few golf courses I could go to like fewer tee times and so many peeps off along with way too much rain, I have not been able to hit them even once yet. I bought them for the shaft after hitting a buddies club with that shaft. I normaly play another brand. But Hogan has a good product and I don't expect to have any problems.

I am a long time golfer 30+ years and my handicap has ranged from 5 to 15 over those years. Most of the time I have played with a forged blade and on occasion a set of pigns to see what they were all about. But at the end of the day I always seems to go back to a forges blade, and normally a Hogan. I was looking for something that would give me the playability that I needed plus some forgivness when I did not have my 'A' game......which is more often than not now adays. These Hogans give me everything that I need in a club plus I can still use the Apex 4 shaft that I am used to. I can work the ball left or right and still have a margin for error. This is a great set for someone that either is ready to improve their game or needs to scale back a bit from a true blade. Standing over these clubs, they feel just like a normal blade.....but easier to hit at the end of the day.Read full review
What do you like: I've been playing Mizuno MX-23 for the past three seasons. After hitting an Apex Plus iron at the range, I decided to buy a set. Not dissapointed at all. These irons are buttery soft. And with my swing type, more sweeping, the narrow sole still allows for me to take a divot. Head shape is smaller which allows for more shot shaping and at the same time the shallow cavity back provides some forgiveness. What I don't like: Club head material is very soft (can't have everything, right?) and dings easily. Definitely use breathable covers or bag clatter dents will result. Graphite shafts are okay but now I wished I opted for the Hogan steel #3.
The weight and balance of these clubs helps the user maintain good tempo. They are somewhat forgiving for a forged club with less bounce, but I have seen more pure shots with these clubs and the difference is greater loft and distance. I recommend these clubs for the avid golfer who not only plays but also practices on occasion. I have seen great improvement especially with the mid irons and am excited to see how well I can score once I have these dialed in.

Hogan Apex Plus irons, Apex 4 stiff shafts, std loft & lie. Bought used on Ebay, Nice condition, good price. These clubs are GREAT for me and much better than I was hoping for after only 3 18 hole rounds in 1 week. I'm actually more enthuastic about playing golf this year than I have been in 15 years. The forged traditional looking iron really appeals to me. I liked playing Wilson clubs in '70's & 80's. I started playing golf when I was 9 in mid-sixties. Just standing over the ball with these Hogan irons in hand is visually great which gives me confidence and we all know how important that is! I played Ping G2 irons, True Temper Stiff 'Cushin" steel shafts, last couple of years and my scores were not improving with the 'game improvment irons'. I got the Pings because I turned 50 and thought I should get some easier to hit irons. Ya they were easier to hit but that didn't help my game. Not sure how I got interested in Hogans but everything I researched was good or great. Thought about Apex blades, but decided to go with Apex Plus after reading alot online. The forged irons feel "like butter", as so many reviews say, when you catch it right and mishits aren't that bad, but you know when and 'how' you missed it. Plus these Hogans are going farther than the G2 Pings, Maybe I'm just swinging better, maybe the Hogans make me want to swing better, whatever, I'm going to have to club down because I'm airmailing greens with 5 iron from 165 yds. which is like 20 years ago for me. Like the set up of E wedge too,. since I'm going over greens and having to chip back to the hole, the E wedge has been getting me close enough to save par about half the time.Read full review
