Super easy to setup and use, but way too many false alerts. I drive about 50,000 miles a year and it has a good range, but be ready to use City all the time to reduce false alerts. It will pickup radar units used for construction zones at over 1/2 mile away, but will pickup false alerts near banks, stores or shopping centers that use automatic door openers.

It is a very sensitive unit for the money. Good detection range. You may have to tweek the settings to reduce X band warnings, but it's an easy fix. It's the best unit in its price range that you will find. I also have the Beltronics RX 65.If you want the best range, with less false alerts, go with the RX65. It's more money, but if you travel a lot, it's definately worth the extra money.
I did an A and B comparison with the Bell, sitting next to a 9500 and the range of the bell, left a lot to be desired. The range on this unit is comical. It starts going off almost at the point when you see the Police Unit and by that time, it's too late. My 9500, gives me at least 1/4 mile if not more warning, when the police are using band, which is what they use in South Fl. I have even thought of returning the unit but all the packaging is gone. You get what you pay for and the Bell will not come close to the quality and reliability of a premium Radar Detector.

I have used Beltronics Vector Radar Detectors for many, many years they have not failed me. construction is superb and quality is there. Features like no others in same price range. Detection is great, many claim is to sensitive with false alarms, with the settings offered you can minimized false alarms and or disable bands that are not active on your driving area. any time my family or I need a radar detector we dont look at any other brand, not even passport. For the money in my humble oinion Beltronics is the way to go. I'm not related to Beltronics in any way, I'm just a regular user of their products.

OK, it's not the best and latest detector out there - but for the price it can't be beat! I bought a used one here for $56 for my wife's car as I was sick of driving "unprotected" when we take her car out . In my own car I have the Escort 9500X. Aside from the blue lighting and the GPS in the Escort the detectors pretty much work the same. The cost however is night and day. I actually like the size of the Bell better, it isn't as long as the Escort so it fits better behind the sun visor when it is down. If you are on a budget looking for a great little detector the 940 is it!
