This game is probably one of the most talked about and highly played FPS games on the market today, I'll save you the details on what kind of game it is as I am sure you already know if your reading this, and can find that info easy on a game review site. I will focus more on my view of the game. I must say it holds true is that this is designed to be a multiplayer game, dont even think about getting it if you dont plan to play online. 1 player mode exsist but outside of learning how to pilot a vehicle its pointless and boring. So whats good about the game? Well I for one love the theme, there is nothing like being in a war type simulation game with alot of players hearing rounds buzz past your ears, or altillery going off. With a good sound system this game is very impressive in that department. I get alot of pleasure of being able to snipe sombody from like 800 yards away, or its just as fun to be the assult type of person and run head first into an enemy bunker. The game really lets you play the way you want to play. I much prefer the Special Forces expansion wich is included with the deluxe edition as it has night maps, and alot of man vs man action. I found the stock BF2 game to be based on vehicle combat alot. If you were not in a jet, chopper, or tank you were usless and dead. So whats bad about the game? Well if you didnt already hear for a full fledged game not in beta it seems to have some bugs. For me with a high end computer I didnt really notice anything outside of the fact that the game likes to somtimes randomly make you lose a connection to a server, or the servers themselves would totally crash. Also keep in mind this game has a pretty demanding engine, so if you plan to play on any decent visual quality settings be prepared to have a good computer and definitly have 2gb of system ram. With how long this game has been out, computers that can play it with ease are starting to become more of the norm, as the new generation of cpu's just came out and soon new video cards. You could have yourself a great computer for cheap when the prices drop on the current stuff. Also be on the lookout for the new Battlefield 2142 game soon to come, the sequal to this game that takes place in the future.Read full review
My son (mid teen) bought it here on eBay and raves about it. He then got my husband (age unknown?) hooked on it as well. My nephew (mid teen)turned my son onto this game so it's a hit and spreading. "Gamespot" also rates it very high and has a video review... (editors choice 9.3, critic score 9.0 and user score 9.3)...has a video review of the game, under "Video's click on "Video Review" copy and paste url: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/battlefield2/index.html For you gamers this video review in Gamespot goes through all the details and highlights even some lowlights of the game, I recommend you view it for in depth detailed and visual specifics! This awesome game has been around for more than five years. A large number of active online players still support this game. I can always find a game to join because many servers and maps available. This deluxe edition package includes the Special Forces maps and weapons (they are not part of the standard game). The minimum system requirements for this application are easy to acquire. You can play this game on a decent five year old PC with one or two gigabytes of RAM and a reasonable Nvidia or ATI video card with 128 megabytes of ram. Check it out.
Hi...Actually I bought this product because of its title...I have been interested in the Battlefield saga and this is my second purchase...Ive played it and my kid hates me because I don't let him play me...(Can't let him beat me!!!...I'm the father)...so close further ahead I will be buying Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 3 Limited Edition...Now to keep talking about Battlefield 2 is that I love the resolution and the good thing is that as you go up with this games they get a lot better...It's fun to play it much more when I'm a First Person Shooter game addict!!!...If I would recommend it???...BIG TIME YES!!!!!!...So enjoy it...Becuase if ur an Ol' man like me???...I know you will!!!!!
I bought Battlefield 2 with the expectation that it would be a worthy followup to its predecessor Battlefield 1942, unlike the hastely put-together Battlefield Vietnam. Fortunately EA and Dice pulled through, creating a game that possesses not only the same features that made BF1942 a success, but also introduced exciting new features which will intensify your gaming experience. Features such as setting up squads, serving as a commander, and unlocking new weapons. It also meticulously records your stats regarding the number of kills you make, the accuracy of your weapons, and also gives awards for outstanding performances. Although the gaming experience is phenomenal online, offline play is terrible. For those of you who do not have a fast internet connection (DSL, Cable, or T1), this probably isn't the game for you. The difference in gaming experience between offline play and online play are like night and day. This is due to the fact that BF2 was originally going to be an online-only game; single player mode was added later in the game's development due to popular demand and hence was underdeveloped. Nevertheless, I believe that anyone who buys this game will thoroughly enjoy it and is a game that I highly recommend.Read full review
