You should read the manual. The charger works best if you unplug it between trying to use different functions. You cannot switch functions by pushing buttons. Seems to work very well. The 'Start Engine' is just high amperage charging on a timer, and not a good idea unless you just HAVE to get something started - use the restore, but plan on unplugging it and making it start again every 12 hours for 5 days. I liked this one so well I bought another one.

shipping box was the only thing that would make you think it's not new.. no 6 volt for golf cart other than that...very very very sweet deal. noticed that I paid $28.51 after FL sales tax. I think it sells for $60 on amazon and homedepot. and then the Stanley branded charger is a few $ more (https://goo.gl/f7Gcio) I don't plan on buying another otherwise I would be worried seller would raise the price. 5 days shipping. go for it...

THIS CHARGER IS ROBUST, DEPENDABLE (SO FAR) AND WHEN PURCHASED FOR UNDER 40 BUCKS, A SOLID BARGAIN. I OWN HOMES IN TORONTO AND NASHVILLE WITH MULTIPLE VEHICLES IN BOTH LOCATIONS. A GOOD BATTERY CHARGER IS A MUST FOR OUR FLEET AND I FEEL OUR NEEDS WILL BE ADEQUATELY MET FOR AT LEAST AS LONG AS I'M ABOVE THE DIRT.

This charger works great and pretty quickly too. The charge and engine start features are great. Also the battery reconditioning feature is able to revive some older batteries that were close to being scrapped. I highly recommend this charger.
