Batman the animated series is by far the best animated batman series there is. It's a kids show, but it's full of clever and intelligent writing, plus some great voice acting by the likes of Mark Hamill as The Joker, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Michael Ansara as Mr. Freeze, and many more. It's very mysterious and has a sort of Tim Burton feel to it thanks to its dark atmosphere and music done by Danny Elfman (edward scissor hands etc.). Can't say enough good things!

As a child one has to have heroes to cheer for. No one quite knows the reasons why but every kid selects someone to model their own lives after. For me this was Batman. A intellient, tough crime fighter who took his own lose and turned it around to save other people from having to share in the pain. I watched "Batman the Animated Series" on television every chance I got so I could see my hero in action. Now after purchasing "Batman the Animated Series: Volume One", I can see the Dark Knight anytime I what! The first installment of the four volume series has the first twenty-eight episodes on four disks. There are also special features to be had on two of the four disks. What seperates this series from other cartoons of the time is the intense work on the storylines and voice-acting that other shows deemed 'unimportant'. The producers also added darker and sad backgrounds to otherwise gimic villians such as Mr. Freeze and Clayface. The show is created with bringing Batman back to the public's eyes and making him an even bigger star than he already is. All four disks are in the best of shape and with a touch of carefulness will last for years. The quialty is outstanding and features interesting. This collection is the king of the mountain and a must have for any fan of the Batman or DC Comic superheroes. Much like myself.Read full review
"Beware The Grey Ghost" (Episode #18) is featured on Volume One of Batman: The Animated Series (DC Comics Classic Collection) (1992) DVD. After a series of unexplained yet blatant acts of arson, The Dark Knight awakes with memories of a television program that "he and his father" would stay up and watch during his youth--The Grey Ghost. The following morning as Bruce Wayne, The Batman investigates this lead and enlists the assistance of a reluctant Simon Trent--who was the fictional actor that played The Grey Ghost (voiced by Adam West). With Trent's help, The Batman discovers that an episode of The Grey Ghost (entitled "The Mad Bomber") bore uncanny similarities to the Gotham City arsonist. From there, the clues begin to fall into place and lead the duo of Batman and Trent (now clad in his Grey Ghost costume) straight to their adversary (voiced by Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm), whom they eventually bring to justice. This is one episode of Batman: The Animated Series that I can never get tired of watching as it not only gives fans a glimpse of Bruce Wayne's childhood, but also reveals a more human side to The Dark Knight. Yes. Even The Batman had his idols.Read full review
I remembered my children faithfully watching this show all the time and they really enjoyed it. I was working but saw it a little. I joined a Facebook group that talks about this series all the time. I ordered the first two seasons from Ebay and I watched tremendously impressed with everything about the series. The stories, the art, the everything of it. I'm getting the other seasons soon. Top flight series. This is my favorite Batman.

This is an absolutely awesome cartoon. I have seen many of the batman, and not one of them comes even close to being even remotely as good as this one. It is a very grounded cartoon, and the batman is as realistic and normal as any batman cartoon can be. Some of the other ones I have noticed and seen haven't had a very human aspect to them. But this cartoon gets 5 stars from me for it have an overall vast storyline, and keeps you wanting to just watch more. And there is no doubt about it your kids would love it. I have two 8 year olds and a 6 year old that watch it, I don't let my younger sons watch it though. They love it, and it is nice and quiet when they are watching it!!! Anyway, get it, its a great cartoon!
