I was watchin the DARK KNIGHT one night and i started to think, "I forgot everything from the original Batman." And then I was trying to remember how well the Joker would compare to the one played by Jack Nicholson. So I got on Ebay and found a good-priced DVD of the 1989 Batman with Michael Keaton....AWESOME!! YEAH, some things here and there seem a bit corny now, but I can see why this was considered the movie of the year by many critics when it came out. The action is great, the Joker is astonishingly entertaining (whether he's killing, smiling, dancing, or fooling around with women), and Batman's love interest is twice as good looking as any of the ones in later movies. Funny how she later played Eminem's trailer-trash mom years later in 8 Mile haha! If you don't mind going back a few years to enjoy some cinema, I recommend buying this movie.Read full review
One of the best comic book action heroes movies of the decade. Filled with with non stop action and really good acting. Michael Keaton as Batman is undescribably good. To me the best Batman of them all. Very unfortunate for Keaton to decide not to continue acting on the rest of the Batman movies. to my opinio he didn't have any idea how sucessfulll the Batman movies will be in the future. As the joker, the roll of Jack Nikolson whos acting carrier has been from good to one of the best actors in the film making. As the joker, well, we had another good actor but once you see Nikolson in action you will see a supirior quality in the movie. The gotihc arquitecture of Gotham City was very realistic unlike the one from the recent movies wich were a little bit modernfor the era. Great movie to have and to save for your kids. Those in this generation should defenitly see this movie. Buy it with confidence, keep it in your collectiong and those who don't like to keep movies at home keep on selling them in ebay. Im sure there a lot of new age kids that will want to see it. Let's give em a chance to see it. Best of them all.Read full review
