You could say that I have a bad habit of collecting macrobiotic cookbooks. Studying macrobiotic cooking for several years now, I'm always looking for new ideas and helpful things. The latest edition of Basic Macrobiotic Cooking by Julia Ferrae did not disappoint! This is not just a bunch of recipes, but many tips and ideas for variations for all sorts of grains and vegetables. Aside from all the yummy, healthy recipes, there is a very helpful section on what to do with left overs. There is also a weeks worth of menu plans so one can gain a better understanding of what a macro meal may look like. In the updated version of this book, there is a very much expanded desert section! YUM!!! The oatmeal raisin cookies are wonderful! This is not just a collection of recipes, but a guide to create your own dishes as well. If you are looking for tips to start macrobiotic cooking or are an experienced cook looking for new ideas, there is something for you in this cookbook.Read full review
