When I looked to upgrade from my Quad 400, I did a lot of research. I was torn between the Ghost 410 and the 385. Hear me when I say...there is absolutely no reason to spend the extra money for the 410!! This bow is everything you will ever need. After fine tuning the sights, I have it set up for 20-60yd shots. The first deer I shot with this bow had no idea what hit it at 48 yds!! I highly recommend this bow to anyone, as it is light enough for my 10yr old daughter to use (after I help her cock it of course) 5 enthusiastic stars!!

THE BARNETT 385 CROSSBOW PACKAGE WAS A GREAT DEAL. THE QUALITY OF THIS BOW IS OUTSTANDING IN MY OPINION, SHOOTS GREAT, FAST AND ACCURATE. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE AND THE CROSSBOW PACKAGE WAS WORTH IT. NO DISAPPOINTMENT HERE...

This is my first crossbow, so I wanted something that didn't cost a lot, but would also last for several seasons. I looked at Ten Point and Parker mid-level bows, but would have spent as much or more for less FPS and would still need to buy extras that were included with the Barnett Ghost 385. I felt for the cost this was a good option. I was rushed sighting it in for the first time, and was a little surprised it wouldn't hold a consistent zero like other's had claimed. I had a light variable crosswind, so I'm going to blame it on that for now. The scope adjustment also did not seem to respond for elevation like it did for windage. Again, I was rushed my first time out, but I may be replacing the factory scope next season. The illumination is a nice feature too. A few negatives I have noticed so far is the use of adhesive on this crossbow. First time hunting I lost one of the rubber string dampener ends while hanging cocked. I found it and used a strong adhesive to prevent from falling off again. One of the stickers on the limb also fell off the other night after I discharged a bolt. Minor things but annoyances for a new bow. Also, I've noticed the center wound portion of the firing string is separating slightly near the center. I read another review of this happening too. Not sure the significance of this after approximately 30 shots, but something I'll keep an eye on. It appears to be where the mechanism holds the string while cocked. I was also slightly confused about the nock style that were on the 3 bolts in the box. They're not half moon nocks but seem to work. Since I'm new to crossbows, this may be a non-issue, but is not the same style of Barnette bolts I bought at Academy. Overall I'm happy with this purchase. I haven't shot through my chronograph, but it's definitely faster than my father-in-law's Excalibur and a lot quieter.Read full review

Right out of the box... At 20 yards, a kill zone on my 3D deer target. I have been a conventional bow hunter for 50 years, and this is the first time I ever shot a crossbow. I am super impressed. This machine is solid, and well built, and comes with a great scope on it. 5 STARS *****
