I purchased this crossbow to see how I would like using one. As a beginner only having shot a crossbow a few times this was very easy to get set up. First time out I was only able to see the neck and head of a deer. Took the neck Shot and it fell where it stood. Good beginner bow or someone with a limited budget.

I was looking for a good quality crossbow to see if I was interested in hunting with it. After about 5 shots I had the scope zero'ed. At 50 yards it can put bolts in a 3 inch circle, And that's me shooting it. I have never been able to shoot a bow and have never fired a crossbow before. I bought this one used but it was in great condition. The deer need to beware!!!

Well, string broke near immediately, none in this town. Product nice, scope nice, design good but hey Barnett, work on that string quality ya noobs! Hurting people seems like it don't bother one. Plenty hurt from breaking strings! Not me but no fun I'm sure. Wear safety glasses ALWAYS using a crossbow people.

Appears to be very well made and good quality. I also bought the rope cocking device. I'm most impressed with the power and a accuracy of this bow. Mine does have the 4 X 32 scope. My first project was building an arrow stop so I could shoot the crossbow in my yard. Tried 6 layers of heavy cardboard with rubber floor mats and old clothing sandwiched between the layers of cardboard with a sheet of 1/2 CDX plywood as a just in case stop. The arrows easily passed through all of it including the plywood. Tried and an old tire as a final stop and the arrow penetrated all the cardboard and both walls of the tire. I had to remove the arrow with a hammer. Finally ground the point off the arrow so the arrow had a blunt point. With a cardboard box full off plastic shopping bags the arrow stopped 1/2 way into the box and was easily removed. So now I have an arrow stop. Had my 13 year old grand daughter shoot the bow 3 times. 2 shots within 3" of the bulls eye and the third shot dead center. It takes considerable effort to cock the crossbow. Doubt very much if the 13 year old grand daughter could do it. For adults with back trouble or kids you might consider the cranking device for cocking. I can do it fairly effortlessly. I like the Quad 400 very much so far. I plan to use it for wild hog hunting in FloridaRead full review

Even at retail, this is a full featured now that's all worth the money. I picked mine up on sale, just to make it even better. Fast, easy setup. A little loud, but with the fast speed that almost doesn't matter. I use mine to hunt elk, and it's fully lethal. In the starter bow price range, the Quad is hard to beat.
