My previous phone was iPhone 3gs and in general I am Apple products fun (MacBook user since 2006, iPhone since 2009 and iPad since 2012), so this was my first Android device. So, the review will be kind of Sony/Android vs. iPhone/iOS Display. This device has excellent display with pretty good multitouch sensor. It's big, which is good and bad: good because you can see big size pictures and videos, bad because you can't use it by one hand, it makes Sony Ion two hand device, as many other Android device, by the way. Speakers. Sony always has great audio futures and this is true about this device too: it has excellent build-in speakers enabling you to listen music without docking station/external speakers. Materials. I would say good, not excellent compering manly with iPhones, but much better than other brand's smartphones including LG, Nokia and Samsung. Interface, usage. As mentioned it's two hand device, which makes me nervous: you can's just take and write SMS by one hand while holding a cup of coffee or something else in the other. Four interface buttons make usage complicate too. Searching button does not make sense at all. Sony positions additional external buttons as advantage, but they are not: camera button, is not that necessary and could be combined with some other (holding back or meny sensors for example). Additional buttons makes cases inconvenient and the "search" of needed buttons difficult. The worse future is power/activation button, you never find it in first attempt and need to rotate the device, pushing its every side. Battery life is the weakest side of this device, it requires charging twice a day. I was critical abut iPhone battery, but this device is battery killer. And it is not just because of a big display, as battery application says it's many Android system and 3G connection. Looks like 3G radio module is also battery killer on this device. You need to find complicate combination of regimes to have 20% charged battery at least by 18:00 pm, 24 hour is a dream! Speaking about Android I would mention that it has very illogical interface, i.e. you can never guess where a particular setting is hidden. Unlike iOS devices interface is not intuitive, you need to be trained in Android usage by someone, read about a particular future in internet or or wach videos on youtube. Build in help topics and relevant links are not very helpful ... not as helpful as iPhone help.Read full review
This is my first Android phone. The performance is impressive. But deep down, I still consider iPhone (any version) are response smoother a bit. Feel like more flexible to run anything and just like holding a computer but may not be good for people just want a phone. You have so many options and functions to play around. I do like it and camera are not bad. iPhone camera just got a bid wider angle. Under out door, the picture quality just like normal $300 camera quality. Low light is acceptable. The only thing I most panic is the battery life. I believe all Android phones have such problem. Sony provide software to monitor your battery usage but not sure how we can really stop those app running on the back ground still not sure yet. Over all, this is a good quality Sony phone with good size and quality build. I am happy with my H2o provider too.Read full review
bestWhat do you like? Strengths and advantages. Crazy like housing - it is very accurate and well-assembled device - without cracks and gaps. It should be noted that this Iksperiya with the maximum size of the screen - 4.2 more than the average, but less than 4.8 for the phone huge like SGS 3. In his hand is fine, just below his palm. Share This - his old but great HTC HD2 - liked him from the first. Say we should take it, despite the price. It must be confessed - on such devices our sellers bid up the price so much that I want to order from Europe or buy the iPhone 5 on eBay for 27,000 in the maximum possible memory from the factory and no lock-sim. It is convenient that the SIM card and fleha hidden under the top cover, which holds tight, but can be removed without a Herculean effort from HTC (in them without opening the cover on the side or bottom - afraid to break the machine - the instruction says that you can safely pull, - plastic speaks back!). Discount store Liaison Officer for the unit will get 18 thousand if the contract with the seller to sell the discount - they are only 4 per year - then bought for 19 thousand - will be happy, but as the seller ☺. What's not to like? Weaknesses and shortcomings. Disease of many high-end smartphone - it's quiet dynamics. Not speaking - with this in Iksperii okay! But in polyphonic Jonah rather weak - even technology X-Loud situation does not help (and indeed in the quiet fellow only scored more than the sound of the noise!). In general, these small holes, which are marked by the sound of the call out a small sound vibrations, which when in the pocket of the jacket or coat will cause the owner of the illness of phantom calls. Well, maybe, of course, I used to have stereo sound to other devices, a little deaf, but the party did not give an opinion other question in my opinion. True, comparing it with my HD2 (the situation is similar.) Of particular note, looks like the image on the screen - thanks to no gap (no air gap between the screen and glass), the image is on the screen surface - right under your fingers - it's nice to know that you push on something real, and not recessed into the unit ☺ . Pleases quick response screen to unlock - Samsung should learn from this. What do you want in it is not enough? I see no reason to write again and again about the display with Sony marketing hype like Bravo and more. I will say one thing - the screen is better and better Eski. Although progress for 2 years in innovative screens - no. But all the same color, and lifelike color is not distorted at maximum brightness, as in my previous Sony P (opinion of the knight in the metal). Credit, in general! What features do you use often? E-mail, SMS games - and do not like to dig into the settings all the time, trying to extend the life of the battery for at least 10 minutes longer. What features do you use occasionally? Social networks like Facebook & Twitter ☺. And the integration of different types of mail and Google Taymskeyp. In general, almost the whole screen unnecessary standard applications. What functions do not use at all? Those described above. Have repair? I think the company has optimized the iron under the fourth Android and not be a problem - at least, the quality is better Nokia's and other competitors ... What trouble occurred with the device? No ☺. What bugs have been seen? Rebooted with fast viewing a photo immediately after the shot with a quick start. Try to compare tRead full review
I love this phone. It takes a little getting use to and navigating to find where certain setting are to make sure its running good and not wasting the battery life. But Im still learning after having a black berry type of phone for so long. I do need to find a better manual for this thing, the one they gave me is very generic and basic. But anyways, the phone sounds great with the FM Radio I have on this and the camera so far is good. Crystal clear pics. Lots of opertunity with this phone.
1 heck of an awesome smartphone.totally worth it and packed with great features and capability. Was disappointed that it didn't run android icecream sandwich (4.0) but its still able to perform great. Loved the feature that allows the phone to seamlessly sync and operate with my Sony Bravia led tv as well as the Sony blu ray surround sound. Able to play media on my phone straight to the tele at the touch of a button.totally worth every penny.
