Planet Waves is a 1974 studio album by Bob Dylan. It was recorded during the period Dylan was backed by the now infamous groundbreaking Canadian group "The band". The album has a folk/rock feel, the songs are primarily based on small town living and what I would describe as blue collared love songs. The songs "Tough Mama" and "Forever Young" are well regarded songs among Dylan fans. Listening to this album will give the listener an in depth view at how accomplished The Band was as a backing band, aside from there own songwriting aspirations. I have always thought this album was underrated and did not get the recognition it deserved. For any fan of Bob Dylan or The Band this album will deliver exactly what most people have learned to expect from these musicians. A well played, well written, solid rock and roll album, that’s sure to not disappoint even the most critical listener.Read full review
