This cd is fabulous. I bought this cd a second time, first copy was lent to my 12 year old daughter, need I say more. There are 4 or 5 songs (or numbers) that aren't so hot, but the remaining ones are. The quality of some of the music is down right first notch. Instrumentation and vocal work is awesome, this is NOT some cartoon weekend music for kids. The show opener and closer songs are downright swingin. If you can imagine some of the episodes as you listen to these numbers/episodes its even better. I personally have memorized about 5 of the songs. International Log is killer with "I'm a bearded lady" and Fire Dogs with 'yeah, but I am cat' and the sleeper hit (a ballad) is Ren's Pectoral implants, makes me cry everytime. Great party material. The reason I rate this cd good and not excellent is because only Ren and Stimpy fans are going to totally appreciate this. Excellent if you are fan, real good to all you other folks. "no one is -better- than no one" clever little song with Tap dancing - whoopi! The list goes on. Buy it while you still can - enjoy. DA.Read full review
If you like Ren and Stimpy, you'll love You Eediot. Long before the South Park kids were talking to turds, Ren and Stimpy were having cartoon encounters with nose goblins, hairballs, and the consequences of peeing on an electric fence. You Eediot! includes most of the great moments from their cartoon show, including "Log Theme," "Muddy Mudskipper," and "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy." The Screaming Lederhosen, a band made up of animators from the show, provide a number of slightly sluggish loungy musical interludes. Caveat emptor: this disk was recorded after creator John Kricfalusi was dumped from the show, so Ren's voice is done by Billy West instead. Although West is superb in his own right--and shines as Stimpy--those who loved the cartoons will miss Kricfalusi's original chihuahua-on-the-verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown.Read full review
Super silliness for my young boys. It brings back great memories of watching this ridiculous show in college. I had the Crock'o'Christmas CD and my kids loved it, so I bought You Eediot! and Radio Daze. They satisfied the juvenile humor desire perfectly.
Ren and Stimpy stuff is all collectible, which makes finding it difficult! I purchased the tape when all that MTV stuff was going on, about how offensive it was, before South Park... The cd is exactly the same (good stuff) and definitely true to the spirit of the show.
This is a childhood favorite for anyone who grew up with nickelodeon! Ren and Stimpy's soundtrack is soooo great. In fact it culd almost pass as a jazz album when you listen to the opening theme song (which is longer than the show puts on) All in all a great cd to have for nostalgic purposes!
