Best mic ever....terribly close to the blue bluebird...just not as much high end....however you don't need that or want it. Imo. Mic takes a little more concentration to hit the sweet spot as it is a smaller area than say a rode or mxl. But it sounds three times as nice when u hit that spot. The nice thing about having such a close area of pickup is that it doesn't grab every other sound in the room or car passing by....but the sweet spot right in front of the mic sounds excellent and very very close to the actual sound I am recording. When I have a singer that is not good with how to sing I to a mic I prefer other mics.....but for seasoned singers with recording experience can make this baby sound awesome. I don't really have to compress or eq my tracks at all if I didn't want to which is nice...what you hear is what you get out of singers at least. I can see why others have said this mic is not good....or has a weird eq.....it's prolly cause they are not used to singing I to a mic. This mic is a little odd in that u sing one to four inches from it...sometimes singers just don't get how to get in that spot...so I use other mics. Bang for the buck I should a paid more for this mic.Read full review
I did a ton of online research before purchasing this microphone, and spent a lot of time reading reviews (via Google) from other users, sellers and musicians. For the money, this is without a doubt one of the finest microphones on the market today. If you don’t have the BIG bucks to spend on Neumann microphones, and you are just recording vocals, acoustic guitars, mic’ed electric guitars and things of that nature, you can’t go wrong. Do some research, you’ll see. BLUE makes a lot of awesome microphones for different applications and yes, they can get pricey, however, the Baby Bottle is a very affordable product, not to mention that Baby Bottles and BLUE mics are popping up all over in recording studios that do have the big bucks to spend.
I enjoy the sound quality that i get from this mic I bought it as is untested and even tho it looked a little rough it still works great! I find that it is a very flat EQ witch is something I prefer. Got it for my home studio and am just getting really used to it!

These come available very rarely. The frequency response is nothing like the Chinese made Baby Bottle. it is comparable to the Violet Design Black Knight, except the bump is at the 2kHz region, and is non sibilant. Perfect for male midrange, and since I use it for audio narration it's adds just the right amount of boost in this band. I work in a ultra low noise room. 2 inches from my chest, it will pick up a faint thump of my heart. Low SNR, EIN, and high sensitivity of 33.5mV/Pa makes this mic a crystal, clear, crisp and uncolored gem.
I wasn't sure which way to go on this model, but am glad I picked up the USA made version of this mic..much nicer than the currently available Blue Baby's - Blue said its from a rare point in time between the Latvian made prototypes and China Assembled models... made as a quality test..some even assembled by their executives!
