I have been using the older B&D trimmers and found them to trim very nice. This new trimmer is a lot better and does trimming around the walk ways a lot better. I think the wheel helps give a nice clean cut. The 20 volt battery lasts a long time and holds a charge for a long time. My old B&D cutters used the 18 volt battery. I bought an adapter so I could use the 20 volt on my 18 volt units. This works very well as I have a lot of different types of B&D accessory's and using the adapter makes it very easy to change batteries.

I'm no gardener. I wanted something to knock down the weeds simply that didn't cost a ton of money, wouldn't be a maintenance hog, or need a cord. This met my expectations; it cuts weeds. But if you're looking for something powerful or performance-oriented, this isn't it. It will do a basic job. I thought it would be a bit more powerful, but it makes sense that it's not because it's battery operated. Some good points are that it's lightweight and there's almost no assembly required. And it does cut weeds. They are gone. It's important to keep in mind that that's what you're buying it for. If you do that, I think you'll be happy. All in all I'm satisfied.

Very good trimmer if used as intended, not for old mature grasses and weeds that are thick. Was impressed with its power being a battery powered unit, the two power settings is handy. On lower power which is good for most uses the battery will last one half hour plus. The string has been feeding out just as it was designed to do when you push the button and the string seems to be strong and lasts well. Nice that two batteries were included and they will fit other B&D tools.

We haven't owned it long enough to report on the battery lifespan, or of the string spools. Meanwhile, the wife LOVES this trimmer. The automatic line feed feature is great, so the job goes much faster. I got this one for $103, while some sellers are charging over $200 for older models. I recommend this model very highly. It appears to cut off only the small, ragged end of the string, so I suspect the spools will last quite a while.

It is a basic trimmer with decent power (2 settings) and reasonable battery work life. Good for small to medium size yards for driveway, walkways, garden edging, etc. Line feed during operation as needed and when required easy line cartridge replacement. Purchase included two batteries and charger.
