I see lots of reviews on this device, but some of you haven't even owned it! Try it for a couple months (seriously) and then you can place an honest review! I think it is a great device, but experience it first before placing up a review. The GT-N7000 is an excellent device with a few flaws. Yes the battery is 2500 mAh, however the screen and data (wifi/3G) can easily eat up that battery if you do not have some type of battery saving software or adjust your power usage in the settings menu. Choosing the wrong apps can also eat up your battery. You can remedy this by getting a 2600 mAh battery off of eBay, and swapping them out when the battery gets low. Someone mentioned that this phone uses 4G? Not the case out here in the states. 3G is the best the GT-N7000 can produce, although the U.S. Version DOES support 4G. If you want the faster data, go with the AT&T version. Also, be ready to program your GT-N7000 when you get it because you will find you cannot send MMS (Picture text) and other things without placing the proper input for the phone. YouTube has videos on how to correct this problem. I'm not sure if I receive a defective product, but just a month after owning the device it would no longer hold a charge. My SGN had the following text: "CHARGING PAUSED. TEMPERATURE IS TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW." After seeing this text, the phone would not hold a charge. I tried unplugging and replugging it, taking out the battery, and then I did a factory reset on it. Same message popped up. My phone was stock, never rooted or flashed, and only a MONTH old! The next day, the battery was COMPLETELY dead. Sadly, I returned the SGN but am getting a replacement soon. I will give it one more shot because I honestly enjoyed the item.Read full review
Sorry I'm late with my review. I really love the size of the Note 1. It feels great in my hands. I am not happy that a phone that was listed as dark blue looks jet black. Oh well, I can get over that. But the battery life is not as good as I hoped. However I'm satisfied with the cost of the phone and very happy that I never have to use carriers. The plan I have is affordable. I never like having contracts with Carriers and I was overjoyed to have such a nice phone far below the price a new one would cost me, it's a blessing. Thanks!
this phone is excellent! I waited for a few weeks before writing this review. it has great picture quality. galaxy S and S2 also has the nice picture quality and screen quality. pictures are vibrant around 16.7million colors. 8megapixel camera is great! i also like the 1080p HD camera capabilities. Iphone 4s has these also but i like the screen on the NOTE much better. the flashlight that is already on the phone is very bright. the brightest i've seen. it has quite a bit of apps that you can download. I am on a Tmobile basic plan so i dont have data plan. i use WIFI and that works excellent. the only downside is that when you switch off the "packet data" (so you dont incur additional charges) you lose your MMS capabilities. you would think with how smart this phone is that it should work fine like the older dumber phones. i will be calling Tmobile later on to see if they can do anything about that, since Samsung has no solution. the S PEN is amazing. i have almost 10 different apps for the S pen to draw and what not. i like it a lot. after a few weeks im still learning new things with this phone. that is the other drawback (at first but not really an issue) when you first get the phone the battery doesnt last that long since you are constantly messing with it and trying to learn it. the battery lasted all day, from 10am till 4am. thats fine since i plug it into the charger at night. now it lasts me about 2 days before i charge it. after using this phone i went back to use my blackberry, iphone 4s, galaxy s, and a few others and i could not bare it. i almost had to squint and bring the phones close to my face. probably just because i am use to the big screen. i also get a lot of comments like "THAT PHONE'S TOO BIG!" my reply is "DO PEOPLE WHO BUY SUVs and TRUCKS COMPLAIN ABOUT IT BEING TOO BIG?"(i also say "thats what she said" LOL) i dont think the phone is TOO big at all, its big but nice, still fits in my pocket. GOOD: great picture quality, vibrant screen and good colors, 8 megapixel camera, 1080p HD video, S pen, large 5.3in screen, alot of APPS, 16GB and supports up to 32GB SD so thats 48GB total, fast processor, gorilla glass (search youtube to see what happens when you drop an Iphone and a Galaxy S2 with gorilla glass. big difference), and it easily upgraded to the Ice Cream Sandwhich OS android 4.0, edit photos on the phone, Polaris Office is just like Microsoft office with spreadsheet etc., customize your home screens, bad: MMS doesnt work (without a data plan), Battery life a bit short (only when you first get it because of overuse), would be better to have metal case/trim like iphone though it may add more weight., UPDATE: I have now used the NOTE for a few months now and it is still great!!!! I put a 16GB SD card in there so i have a total of 32GB of storage! how much would a 32GB iphone 4s cost??? quite a bit more. also with the battery it is lasting longer now than when i first got it since i figured out how to kill the apps im not using, more often u kill the apps the longer the battery life. i also took a closer look at the 4s specs compared to the note since everyone in my GF's family uses the 4s and found out that the NOTE outperforms the 4s in every area except the screens PPI(pixels per inch). the 4s has 40 more ppi than the note but the note has higher resolution. great phone, great tablet!!!! love drawing on this thing!Read full review
Let me start by saying I have had every iPhone (from 2g-4gS) that has come out to date, but decided that I needed a change and wanted to try something else. The functionality and key abilities that the Galaxy note has put the iPhone to shame. This phone does everything an iPhone can do and more. The display is amazingly huge and clear. The size of the phone is not as much of a con as people would imagine, the phone easily fits in a back pocket or the inside pocket of a suit jacket, and because it weighs almost as much as an iPhone you really don't notice the difference once it's on you. This phone has built in GPS not AGPS (which requires data service to use the gps feature) so it gives you a more accurate "current location". The camera is fantastic and very clear and to be fair the front facing camera actually takes compareable pictures to that of the iPhone back camera. With the dual core processor it makes the phone accessability smooth and fluent. The iPhone 4S in some instances moves a bit smoother, but can only be noticed on a side by side comparison. Something else I learned (but do not recomend) is how to overclock the cpu of the galaxy note actually increasing the output from 1.4ghz to 1.7 ghz, FYI if you do this you WILL VOID YOUR WARRENTY. The S pen is a cool feature but to be fair it seems samsung only incorporated this just to brag they offer something others don't, I still can't find an everyday use for it. I feel a phone of this size could have a louder speaker, too often I find myself missing sms's and emails because I couldn't hear the darn thing. I could run on with features and why this phone is so cool all day but the bottom line is you have to find a phone that suits your person, this phone does that for me. I recomend doing your homework on the phone before you buy it and take everything into consideration and make your choice based on that. I know you may want to have the latest and greatest stuff, but you don't want to be stuck out of pocket a couple hundred bucks and a POS for a phone!Read full review
I love this smartphone. Top of the line technology, lightweight, intuitive software, gorgeous screen. I am a person that is easy on their devices so I look forward to using this device for several years. The Note II was listed at my Denver Best Buy for $799.00 and I purchased mine off of ebay for ~$625.00. This is the most expensive phone I have ever purchased, in fact this is more expensive than my new tv's and new appliance I bought! I do have a few dislikes about the phone...I think the cut & paste is obtuse and wonky, and I also dislike that you can't copy images with a touch. Also, my previous droid would 'right fit' type face when you zoomed in or out...this does not do that, and it drives me crazy! The casual swipe also changes you from internet tab to internet tab...instead of just moving the screen to the side. I find the contacts function that merges all your facebook contacts with your 'my contacts' to be horrible. But the size! the screen! I love it!Read full review
