I personally have for years been dramatically reducing my beloved cookbook collection, even though I still eagerly try out new recipes. It's just too easy to browse for recipes online. However, when our copy of this book was put out of commission by wine spilled on it, and the wine that soaked into the pages fed mold, (the binding and materials are too strong for the book to come apart, as a number of my cookbooks have) I had to replace this volume fast. The recipes, thoroughly tested, clearly explained, and with nutritional data included, meet the highest cookbook standard - that of the Better Homes and Gardens basic cookbook. It's so much more than a collection of recipes, though. It is an organized guide to how microwave cooking works in so many ways. And though I grew up familiar with a number of cooking techniques, microwaving (which was not yet invented back then) is not something I am as yet really familiar with for cooking that goes beyond simple heating. The cost was 99 cents, but I would readily have paid $40.Read full review
