I have a granddaughter (age now 10 months). She first viewed a Baby Einstein DVD while we were visiting a family member's home. She was so mesmerized by the music, colors and the changing pictures that she did not take her eyes off the TV until it was finished 30 minutes later! My granddaughter is delayed developmentally and I use Baby Einstein dvds now as part of our daily routine because it allows her to see so many different things (this one involved sights and sounds of life on a farm) and it's set to beautiful classical music. I have since purchased 5-6 more Baby Einstein dvds. They have age groups printed on the front of the case. A wonderful way to interact and talk to your baby about animals, shapes, colors, etc. SHE LOVES, and I really mean "LOVES" these dvds!! Classical music is something that works well with children I know this first hand. I use to play classical music for my daughter when she was a newborn just before every nap and when she went to bed at night. She ended up with a very strong interest in music, instruments and dance as she grew up through the years. She also enjoyed the choir and chorus at her school. I'm not saying "every" child will end up loving music but I do strongly believe that it helped with her mind development. The dvds are very calming and entertaining at the same time.Read full review
My 8 month old daughter absolutely loves this video. Her favorite part is when the pigs on the farm are featured and slide into and play in the mud, she laughs with that big belly baby laugh. Second is the horses. The puppets in the Baby Einstein videos add an element of laughter so I decided to buy the puppets too a great way to interact with your baby during play time! This video is a great learning tool to use while interacting with your child. We sit with her and watch the video together helping her identify the animals, farm equipment as well as identifying colors and shapes. Babies are never to young to start learning!
Bought for a friend. This was my daughter’s favorite video of all time! Ages 3-9 months. So engaging, colorful, musical, use of puppets and everything about it rocks!! Parents will love it, too!

The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that: - for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%. - among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age." - brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. "Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an option for occasional video viewing because communicating in sign language with your child is proven to: - reduce frustration and tantrums - accelerate language development - promote parent-child bonding Last thing for new moms - carrying newborn babies (in arms or next to body) an extra 3 hours a day resulted in 40% less crying. So carrying baby in a carrier or sling can help calm fussy babies!Read full review
