After watching the 2 previous books of the series (Water and Earth) I absolutely wanted to watch the whole series again, as I had caught it on TV although I missed some episodes and wanted to watch them all. This Book3: Fire is excellent as well. Humor, adventure, mystery, great character and background design all driven by a very original storyline make for great entertainment. The quality of animation is very good for a series with some ups and downs but overall very good. Throughout the series you'll follow a cast of attaching characters in their Quest to defeat the Fire Lord and restore peace in the world. Really an epic with humor. An intelligent and entertaining series, not to mention it's visually very cool. It's sometimes a little scary/violent for the little ones but I'd say it's ok from 5 and up... Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did and OH YES: the Book 4: Air has never been released! Let's call Nickelodeon and give them an ultimatum!Read full review
The way that ideas are conveyed is great. The topic is more than it seems and is fun for me to watch with my son. After we watch it, he has plenty of acting out and many questions. I answer until he is out of questions. I believe this animated cartoon is a great tool for entertainment as well as helping stimulate and educate my son. In the end, the Avatar was not able to defeat evil but was able to harness evil and remove the threat by taking its power away. Team Avatar consists of a balance of forces that have the human element mixed with the worldly elements of air, fire, earth and water. Somehow, only the Avatar has the advantage of connecting with the Spirit world. He is responsible for spreading the word/wisdom to the eartly elements. Together, this team brings peace to the world.Read full review
I watched a few re-runs of this cartoon on Nickelodion with my 3 year old boy. It was only a few episodes that I became hooked and wanted to see them all so I could understand the story. I found a seller on Ebay with the entire series for sale. If you like Avatar the Last Airbender then this is for you as well. 61 episodes of Waterbending, Firebending, Airbending and Earthbending. It is very comical and has a lot of wicked battles. I can't wait to see the motion picture and compare it to the cartoons. This is an awesome series and in my opinion is well worth the purchase. Hope this helped you to make your decision.
Excellent series. My 2 and 5 y.o. boys love watching it, and my husband and I were hooked after the first volume. In hindsight, I would probably not have introduced my boys to the series until their were a little older (maybe 6 or 7?). We watched 2-3 a day since we were all hooked, but then it programmed our little boys with a fighting mindframe, which is hard to unprogram without letting them pound on daddy for an hour or so. Each episode has a morale to it and treats women very respectfully. The series has an equal share of ACTIVE male and female heros and villains (as opposed to PASSIVE female leads that read books, lose there voices, and/or just fall in love. That's rare to find these days. Enjoy!
Here's my point of view never crown a series into a 2-minute movie the person should be shot I think you know what I mean don't watch that movie watch the animation
