Seriously now. If you bought this movie to see gore and tricks, then this one is it, but if you bought it to be seriously entertained then you are in for a unhealthy diaper wetting surprise. I didn't really know whether to laugh or cry. Okay, let's see if we can properly tell the plot of this film while keeping a straight face. In Downey, the teenagers Chris (Garret Jones), Scott (William Howard Bowman) and Tim (Rowan Bousaid) are best friends and decide to drive to a bar downtown to watch the gig of a grungy band while Chris' girlfriend Jackie (Juliet Reeves) goes to a party with her preppy friends. While heading to downtown, the trio of friends notes that there are no cars on the road despite the rush hour and they find the streets are empty as well. When they arrive in their destiny, they are chased by zombies and run to the bar. Chris decides to return to Downey while Jackie and her friends are attacked by a bunch of zombies. The plot, losers go to bar, other more popular losers go to house in the middle of nowhere, zombies go on the attack, general running here and there and then wham movie ends in the most stupid fashion ever. During which time we have the lead guy trying to save his girlfriend, and this lead guy is the most annoying dip in the film and his scream is very annoying as well. I so wanted him to die, but he just kept going. We have a scene where the streets were empty and our three heros are just looking. The next thing you know there are zombies all around them to the point they can not make it to their car two feet to the left. Thank GOD that I was superbly depressed when I saw this, because I really needed a good laughing out loud moment. Don't watch this around your stupid acting friends because they will probably poke fun at you for paying money for this one. just hope you rented this alone since the jerk friend loves to laugh & totally humiliate you. There is one decent quality to this entire film, which is the gore effects. They weren't totally spectacular, but they were pretty good for the meager budget they were working with. If you don't like much cursing in films, then this is definitely not for you. The cursing is almost way overdone like it seems that every other word is a curse word. Rick Gonzalez did a fantastic job with some of the feasting and attack scenes in this movie. Honestly, if you can overlook the other issues with this movie, it's worth at least one watch-through to check out some of the effects. There are so many funny as a matter of fact inconsistencies in this film that it should easily qualify as one of Saturday mornings TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000 candidate of the Century. For instance, when the young man is getting his face bitten off by his mother in the first 3 chapters, the guys left hand just lays patting on the floor. Why wouldn't he use the arm to pull his zombie mother off. Again, after all hell breaks loose at the house party, why did the one blond chick climb into her CONVERTIBLE and pause to think, as if "Ahhh. A moment of piece to finally gather my thoughts.". It's not as if the car had windows, a roof, anything to SLOW DOWN an attacking zombie and give her a moment to drive away. All the zombie had to do was CLIMB OVER THE BACK SEAT. Seriously! Come on! Totally laughable. The groaning & growling in this film is absolutely marvelous. They must have worked for years to get the gut-wrenching moans & screams all put together, especially the main manRead full review
On a super small budget they created a fun film with some entertaining elements. I recommend seeing it if you are A.) an aspiring low budget filmmaker, or B.) BIG zombie flick fan, or C.) REALLY BIG indie film buff. For everyone else, some aspects of it might be hard to overcome and enjoy the film. Do not adjust your television! There is a strobing effect that occurs throughout the film no matter what you adjust, and there is *jumpy* sound because they ADR'd much of it (dubbed over - like in the old foreign martial arts flicks ) and it causes some dialogue to feel off. I like the opening sequence (Gear of War 2? One of the guys from the video game development for GoW worked on the sequence - you can see a family resemblance) and the special features, like the commentary, are a nice add. It is very modern, and stays true to the genre rather than trying to reinvent it.Read full review
"What do you like, love, or dislike about it?" I liked the better-than-average amateur quality of this fine zombie production. I liked the very slighty jerky quality of the camera work, not seizure-inducing mind you, but it gave an frenetic effect to the action and tenseness. What did I REALLY dislike about it? That 75 minutes into the movie (SPOILER ALERT!) as the heroes are cornered outside the locked door to the morgue with dozens of zombies closing in on them... "To Be Continued" Not my review. That's how the movie ended! That's B.S. man! Bee... Ess...!
I love zombie movies and I own most of them, but this one was not worth the money or the time. I'm not one that is looking for a new twist on the whole people eating people turn into zombie plot, but this one really was not enjoyable to watch. The acting was corny, not even bad, just corny but not like a good b-movie corny, just lousy. Personally I couldn't recommend this movie to anyone. Save your money and pass this one up. There are plenty of other zombie movies to keep you up at night.
I thought maybe another good Zombie Movie, Not!!! This movie looks like it was made by a high school drama class and the actors cant act at all, bad make up. Worst of all.. the way the movie was filmed makes the movie very jitterie and it looks as if the movie as its playing skips foward every other second, makes ya dizzy and very bored.. Not shaky footage but loke a very bad 8mm film.. Dont Buy this movie dont even rent it, go on you tube and check out the Jitteryness 1st.
