Move over SM58 - make way for the OM2. This mike has low handling noise, excellent pickup without having to be too close, a wide frequency response and good output for a dynamic. Add a robust case and basket, and an easy to manage shape (or form factor if you must) and it all adds up to a versatile addition to the kit. I find it works well on stage for singers or speakers, and is certainly good enough for recording speeches and presentations, where the cardioid response helps focus on the voice. Inexperienced presenters can move around a little way from the mike without being lost, and the inevitable mike hog who insists on placing it 2mm from his front teeth doesn't get quite as much boom and distortion as with the 58. While the SM58 still seems best on 600 ohm inputs, the OM2 seems to handle a wider range of inputs without sacrifice to it's characteristics. Highly recommended.Read full review

it's a nice singing mic. I remember the OM1 back in the day. being in a band and wanting a strong clear sound on the vocals. Getting into some recording at home so I found the OM2 and am pleased with the un colored sound

We had been having feedback problems with our vocal microphones bleed-over ect... Everyone except our bass player who was using a Audix OM2. Well I did some research and found that even though we had been using the industry standard. The Audix OM2 was better suited for are small club system. Ya see we weren't using all kinds of gates and noise suppressors with our system. The long and short of it is the Audix OM2 with it's dynamic Specifications gave us a sharper, clearer, and more controllable signal. It totally solved our problems! We finally have louder and clearer vocals with out all the feedback. Plus it was a lot cheaper than buying seperate gates and noise suppressors. We recently used them with a larger system and they work great there too. I dig this mic!!!
First time I have used these after using Shures(sm/beta 58) and Sennheiser.(e935) Very crisp clean sound! Definitely worth the money.
