This is the most responsive mic I've ever used. Audio Technica's website's description of the microphone is dead-on. There is very little "enhancement" or "coloration" from the mic, so it gives a much truer sound than any Beta, Shure 87's and many boutique mic's. If you have a smooth voice similar to Roy Orbison, or Chris Isaak this mic is perfect for you. But if you are a screamer or a bellower I think you stand a good chance of over-driving the mic and it will distort out. So it is an excellent for a soft vocal approach or those of us that sing with a lot of inflection it works great. If you yell more than you sing, I would stay away and stick with your 58's.
The gain before feedback is a little over rated but all in all a very nice microphone. I have an Audix OM6 that is every bit as good as this microphone at less than 1/2 the price. If you're on a loud stage the Audix OM6 is more what you need no matter if your voice is soft or loud. The AE5400 is great for less loud environments in my opinion. Depends on your budget I suppose.
This product was as expected a great item durable with solid constuction great responce at all frequecies low feed back at high volume. I am a bass singer I needed a mike with maxinum responce at low frequencies this mike is capable of doing just that. clean and not a muddy sound.
Great to do business. Thanks.

I love this mic! This is the best of the microphone that I had! Compared with the Neumann KMS-104 plus, KMS-105, AUDIX OM-5, OM-7, Shure Beta SM-87A! Very versatile microphone that will suit everyone and probably for any style of music! I will surely buy this microphone in the future and in this shop! Buy, highly recommend!
