Go pick up a paper today and look at the crap that passes as the comic page. Now go look at Dick Tracy, Prince Valiant, Flash Gordon, Krazy Kat, Thimble Theatre with Popeye, Gasoline Alley from the 1920's through the 1960's. There is no comparison. The stuff today is pure grade A CRAP!! And at the top of my favorites from the 30's and 40's is Little Orphan Annie. Strange but compelling story and art by Harold Gray. Great cast of characters..Daddy Warbucks, The Asp, her dog Sandy. And the strange little feats of strength she did that were never fully explained. It's just compelling reading that will put you back in those days when the comics page was a first thing in the morning to do when you woke up. Today, the comics page sucks, back then, it didn't, it was a pure a beautiful artform. The people doing it cared about it.Read full review
