This book is a great reference tool with many case studies to help put the information into a clinical context. The only draw back is that it is rather expensive and it weighs a TON! Not something you would want to carry to class every day but definitely useful material. I bought it because it was required by the course I am taking. There are a lot of reference texts out there so compare to see that this is the one that covers the most disease state and therapies you are interested in. I am sure it will fit the needs of most students without any problem!
bought the 2004 edition for 10 bucks vs buying the 2008 for 150......do the math. sure there will be some of the newer info missing from theis book but who cares. It was being used as a refresher for a 1988 edition so I am very pleased
