Everyone knows the iPhone is an engineering marvel, and the 5S is everything you'd expect. It's beautiful to look at and has just the right heft to feel substantial, yet is light enough that it feels modern and fits smoothly in your pocket. It's also intuitive. I hear folks in the Android community talk about how much more advanced their phones are than the current iPhone and so much cheaper, too. But I see no point in buying a phone with better specs when using it is painful and configuring it to work smoothly takes both an abundance of time and technical know-how. The iPhone simply works, beautifully, and right out of the box. The only problem is that it doesn't work for long enough. The battery on the 5S leaves much to be desired. I even had my battery replaced with a new Apple battery thinking the battery was bad. Nope. Today, I got two hours of active use and 12 hours of standby. I had WiFi off since I was work, and I know leaving the WiFi on when the phone can't connect drains the battery. I did a little research today and have since gone and turned off all app notifications. But still, compared to the iPad Air, the 5S's battery leaves much to be desired.Read full review

My old iPhone 5 kept a battery charge longer and stayed on until battery was gone. This phone dies when there is 17% battery left.. it seems to loose battery life faster than my previous phone. I do not know what a small form factor is.

Simply put: One of the best smart phones available in the market combined with iOS 7, it eclipses the rivals. I personally have owned every iphone that apple produced and with every new model, there have been noticeable improvements. Although 5s has better security features as well as faster processor, iphone 5 can still handle your every day apps as well as some of the more intense graphic game apps. I have also used Galaxy S4 and the same apps that run blazing fast on iphone, may not run as smooth on the S4 even though a larger viewing area (on S4) is certainly a plus. One slight disappointment (From repair point of view) The lightness of the phone meant a thinner chasis and frame. Which results in slightly bent iphone 5 when not put in a sturdy case. That also results in slight separation of the LCD from the frame. The Screen/digitizer breakage consistansy is about the same as it was in iphone 4 or 4s. This particular iphone 5 Verizon I purchased had severe water damage, actually more like it went through a full wash cycle inside someone's pants pocket since inside was all full of white dried up crude. So I felt like I got ripped of from this Ebay seller. Most honest sellers let buyers know about the phone being water damaged (I tend to stay away from those devices) But this particular seller didn't so now I have an expensive paper weight sitting on my desk. The seller's record shows he sells lot of phones so it's not like he didn't know about this particular phone. Ebay buyer protection doesn't do much especially when seller is selling something as is and no refund or exchange. But still honestly I'd include what I know, especially the water damage part.Read full review

Still having a flip phone in 2017, I finally decided to upgrade. I asked several friends and most of them suggested the IPhone 5 because it's easy to learn and reasonably priced. I read about a million reviews and the only negative things I read were about the battery life. I have had no issues with it! But I mostly just text and talk and take pics. Battery seems to hold a charge just fine for me. I am very happy with my "NEW" phone! I love the 21st century! LOL!!!
