this is my 2nd iPad 3rd gen. and only because i switched over to the cellular version of it. it's a fantastic tablet. i've never had any issues at all. it's fast [or as fast as my internet speed] and displays beautiful video.

I wish the unit would have came with Sim card. I feel like the unit was incomplete. Now I need to take it to an Apple dealer and have them install a SIM card. This will cost me more then what I originally planned on spending. It's too much trouble to have it returned so I'll just count this as a lesson learned to not purchase until I asked the question first.

I absolutely love the iPad 3! It's the perfect size for reading, shopping and social networks. I do wish that the device supported more apps like the iPhone, but that's based on the developers. I have purchased Android tablets in the past and I prefer the iPad, it's simply more smooth and supports more applications that the Android platform. With Android I also had issues getting items to work after being put on the SD card, with the iPad I don't have to worry about that. A big thing for me was wanting to be able to watch my Amazon Prime account, which Apple would let me do and Android would not. I definitely recommend this product.
This one is a winner as much as the original was for its time of release and, in many ways, still is. The processor, memory, display, and camera upgrades make this one a good buy and you can still use the standard cable and adaptors from your 1st generation model. If you must, the only necessary extra you will need would be a new case as the old ones really don't fit - besides it has the smart cover capability of sleep and wake when you smart cover it and that can save you battery. All in all, this one is an A+.
Very pleased with the condition of the iPad. It's an older model but it's a great starter iPad for my Mom. If she likes it and starts using it a lot, eventually she'll upgrade to a more expensive, newer model. Tons of memory and the camera is fine for posting to facebook etc...
