This was one of Apple’s highest achievements in the computer world at the time and by far is still a cream of the crop. It is sturdy built and ease of accessibility to components inside the computer made it my favorite. Of course, the overall technology has changed, but these are still great computers even with certain upgrades to date. The design speaks for itself for the casing material and craftsmanship. It’s not to be under estimated for the process speed is quick and very quick when upgraded to SSD. I definitely enjoyed it!!!

Very affordable Mac. This 2008 Mac Pro still runs everything! Upgrading parts is very affordable as well. Load this up with 16GB (can use 32GB total) for smoother operation. It is also a very handsome machine to show off. The older Mac Pro's were very well engineered with thought and care for longevity and forward thinking. I highly recommend this machine (2008-2012 editions) for productivity. Gaming on these is not recommended due to lack of Direct X suite. I bought mine for music production and music related usage. I paid 325 USD plus shipping. I am very satisfied. Despite the age, this is a very adequate machine for my needs. It has server grade parts and this is why these machines last. I'm running OSX El Capitan and I don't have all the maintenance required by a Windows OS. If you need muscle for productivity type of applications this is right for you. But be aware not all Mac Pro's run the latest OSX. Mac Pro 2006-2007 (1,1 -2,1) will only run up to OS X Lion (10.7). Mac Pro 2008-2009 (3,1 and 4,1) will only run up to El Capitan. If your serious about running the latest Mac OS Sierra you will have to pony up the big bucks for a 2010-2012 model. I'm happy with my 2008 as my music applications still support El Capitan 10.11.Read full review

I receive the item well packed (styrofoam peanuts a little messy as always) and in perfect condition. The machine is very clean with only a slight scratch on the side which was in the pictures when listed. It started up perfectly, runs quietly, and a password was attached to the top of the machine printed bold-large type. I have this machine and mine is on its last legs so I wanted a replacement to keep using old hardware on. I couldn't be more satisfied.

The only drawback is the bluetooth. The machine is fast (even faster with the 32 gig memory upgrade, and it will be faster yet if I decide to upgrade to an ssd base drive and use the scsi as a data drive). The scsi card is as informed ... errors ... but the drive works very well. I'll try to find the parts I need to rework the scsi card but it's not necessary.

Being a used system that I bought a few months back to replace a Mac Mini, it's a big step up for its value. When I got the computer, I had two immediate concerns, however. The hardware configuration was as it was new, BUT the operating system was updated from Mac OS Leopard to Snow Leopard, and the stock video card isn't supported under the snow leopard OS. Getting a video card for the system was easy. The RAM took a bit of researching to locate for this system being that it is PC6400 ECC memory. Found it on new egg.com and was able to get it. Overall, the computer was still a great buy, and I have more memory and RAM than I really need. My advice is to always research what you buy to make sure everything you want to upgrade is available, because some things may be "discontinued".
