It's a different animal from the iPod Touch, but very nice nonetheless. I find the interface very snappy and easy to use once you get used to how it works. Audio quality was excellent as long as you worked with decent quality mp3 or aac files (192 or 160 and up respectively). Only tried a few older videos, but they worked well too. I was surprised how small the unit was, but it still felt very solid and well engineered. No idea as to battery life, but if near the listed amount, it should be fine.
very dependable, perhaps one of the best no nonsense players out there, defiantly better then the current version of the nano. of course the only issue is the one "feature" of instant sync with itunes, true for most people this a blessing and very nice to have, but that also means syncing with other computers is a nightmare, so for someone that might use a desk top and a laptop and plans to use this on both, then your going have to set it to manual mode which is not that easy to do with apples restrictions
I really enjoy the Ipod nano. Its light and easy to use. Very good battery life. I think I played all day in my truck yesterday and only used a third of the battery! NOT BAD! Very affordable as well which is why I will be keeping my ipod nano for years to come.
The 4th gen Nano is an easy to use model of the iPod. It's basically the same as the 5th generation model with the exception of the video capabilities. I bought it for my mother who is somewhat "in" with electronics, but not enough to where she could go through and figure out the complexities of another mp3 player. She's been going to the local YMCA regularly, so I decided to get her this. It's nice because I can put about 1500 of my songs and them some pictures on it so she doesn't have to worry about syncing with her 45-song music library.
The 4th generation Ipod nano is really good. It has a nice sized screen for video playback. It nearly all of the functionality of the 5th generation Ipods, minus the camera, at a more affordable price. It has a larger screen than 3rd generation Ipods and is perhaps one of the best "bang for your bauck" ipods available right now. The one thing that can be problematic is the limited availability of accessories at stores, however, all of these accessories can be purchased on Ebay.
