I purchased this book because I am a personal collector of glass & pottery. I am not a dealer, or store owner. I thought it would help me in getting acquainted with different pieces and styles of pottery companies. Since I only have a few pieces from the 1940's - current and only from the USA, three quarters of this book are of no interest to me. This book contains truly antique pieces from the eighteenth century in Europe and worldwide. It does have a rather large section on Roseville pottery. I appreciate the fact that it does have full color photos, but many are relatively dark. I like the brief history and pottery marks shown at the beginning of each category. There is also an appendix to ceramics clubs and associations. This book is probably more valuable to someone who has more of an interest or need than the 'casual collector'.Read full review
