Having originally owned this album on casette tape for some years, I was extremely happy to hear the much improved sound quality -and additional final track- of this CD. The album's fantastic. Proof that Annie Lennox has more than just mainstream pop appeal. She's pure talent -smooth voice that slips from genre to genre with ease. Influences of Jazz, Soul, pop, RnB, Motown, -Gospel influence even...Wonderful.
In my opinion annie Lennox's best solo album - released in 1999. My favourites are "Walking on broken glass", "Little Bird" and "Stay Youg & Beautiful". "Walking on Broken Glass" rocks like the Eurythmics as does "Little Bird" in a more upbeat tone. "Stay Young..." has a great retro 1920's feel about it - wonderful! I had it on cassette tape so was a long overdue update.
I am replacing a lot of my cd's as after a recent house move, many got lost or damaged. I have always liked annie lennox and this cd makes me remember a lot of good times in my life. It was a good price so I bought it.
I have used the last track as the backing to a play and the CD is now sitting on the shelf probably never to be used again. This review is only being written because ebay keeps asking me to do it and there appears to be no way to say that I do not want to review the CD.
I bought this years ago on tape cassette as it was cheaper than a CD back then. Obviously the sound quality is great and still sounds great and it bought back lots of happy memories. A must for all music lovers
