I have used many amps to try and achieve a good jazz tone from my jazz archtop, including Roland, but the Ampeg BA-110 by far has the best sound. Somehow the fact that it's engineered as a bass amp causes it to bring out the warmth of a hollow body's lows and mids. Also, as a jazz guy I don't care for effects like distortion, chorus, reverb or tremolo, so the minimalist controls (just volume, low, mid and high) appeal to me for purity of tone. Try to get the (older) USA-made version, maybe slightly better quality than the ones from China. Finally, the power (35W with a 10" speaker) is enough for me since I play solo guitar in small venues. You may need more power based on your playing situation.
