It was funny when it came out, and it is funny now. Some folks today may not say so, but they can rate it for themselves.

I show Amos and Andrew to my sociology students to illustrate the fallacy of racial stereotyping. This film allows us to examine several commonly held beliefs. Even in a sociology class, discussing race can be very difficult, and Amos and Andrew allow us to think about our prejudices without getting so emotionally involved. I only wish that we could speak openly and honestly about all matters of race. Amos and Andrew could do without some unnecessary bad language, and the volume of some of the dialogue is almost too low to hear, but this film leaves me wishing Nicolas Cage still made comedies.
It exposes the true side of how corrupt our society can be when left in power and authority over other people. I do not recommend it to be seen by children. This is not a movie that children should be exposed too. Very funny and a lot of truth.

Had this excellent flick already but not in DVD. Rather a good one for these troublesome times.
