I was pretty specific about what I wanted in a kindle and I wasn't disappointed! The touch screen is amazing, I love that it has 3G , I downloaded a book from the kindle store while camping! It was easy to learn to use , the voice is very 'computer' and not a real sounding voice ,which kinda sucks and it says to turn off wifi to preserve your battery . I used it steady all weekend and left the wifi on and the battery level was low but it didn't run out. ( it does say it lasts 2 months!! ) It had zero glare in the sun and I got a case with a little pull out light on a small arm that works perfect also without glare. It has adjustments for reader comfort and it's my new favorite thing ! Reading it at home in 2 weeks the battery level is down just 1/4 way. I highly recommend !

I had been looking at tablets and e-readers for awhile, trying to decide which to get. My primary interest at this time was to read books so when I saw a good deal on this Kindle Touch, with both WI-FI and unlocked 3G, I made up my mind. I am very satisfied with it and have used it almost everday since getting it. The size is great for me, even smaller and lighter than most of the hardcover books I usually read. The battery life has been good for me since I usually only use the WI-FI for downloading books then turn off, it lasts a long time for me. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a e-reader. Also, since I already use Amazon this was a plus for me and I have gotten many good deals from the Kindle Library already. It has been very easy to get books and they are delivered in seconds and I can start reading a new book almost immeadiately. The touch is very easy to read and the controls are easy to use also. One reason I bought this one is so when I visit Cambodia again, my wife's home country, I can carry my books with me and not have to ride for an hour in order to get to the 2 used books stores in Siem Reap. There are also WI-FI spots and 3G networks there where I can go and download new books even when I am there. I plan on stockpiling books on the Kindle before going so I don't expect I will even have to do that though. Overall, it has been a great purchase for me. I will eventually buy a tablet also to take with us to Cambodia that has more functions so my wife can use that. But for now the Kindle does all I need.Read full review
This was my first ever e-reader. This is the ONLY one that will not only download books with Wi-fi but 3G network as well. This is old school, but it works flawlessly. The only exception as I just found out is that Audible will no longer support this device. No more audiobooks, boo! My last one battery crapped out on me. I had it for 7 years and I didn't feel like spending $50 on a used (new version) one. This was exactly what I wanted. It's lightweight and the battery lasts a month on a single charge. The screen is silky smooth and easy to read in the daylight. No backlight, no bluetooth. But it's one huge step up from a regular paperback.

very good product, the screen is very good, the device is fast, the battery life is excellent. the only small problem is tahat the free 3G connection does not work while outside US to connect to internet. it works only for downloading books.
I already own one of these and decided to buy another. It's too bad that kindle decided to discontinue this model
