I was finally able to install this after a few months of having it. It does have better sound quality than the factory head unit. I also replaced the door speakers with quality ones to match the sound. I was able to set the gains and stuff it under my dash. I also purchased a harness side wire harness, and a stereo side wire harness to solder the inputs and outputs to. I also grounded the amp to the head unit and the chassis. My only beef with this unit is that the bass doesn't hit as hard as I would have liked from adding 180 watts to my stereo system. This is why i took away 1 star. This is not the seller's fault at all, just my pickiness. All in all, I'm happy with this as I'm not looking to make noise going down the road, just hear my music with better quality. There is no alternator whine, and it does what it's supposed to do. Read full review

This is a nice little amp. Not bad but perhaps too few watts for my liking. I connected it to the rca outputs on my new jvc head unit but it doesn't seem to have more usable power than the head unit. I am not an audio expert but I have been playing guitar in bands for about 40 years. Thanks

Very good price brand new, and very versatile. Small enough to hide inside your dash. These are a solid state unit so not much to go wrong with these so don't be afraid to purchase one of these used as well - long as it has both wire harnesses its supposed to come with. 45 watts RMS per channel may not seem like a big power number, but it is a world of difference on a factory radio (without external amp already) or even any aftermarket head unit, most of which you're probably lucky to get 10 watts RMS per channel with. Has no problem reproducing low tones for your door speakers, and even for a low price class D amp it can do the highs clearly as well. It's made to plug completely into all your factory speaker outputs and power/ground wires, has four-channel input so you don't lose your fader at the head unit. Another useful feature is its low pass crossover that can be set at several frequencies - useful for if you're still using factory door speakers, and/or have an added subwoofer system.Read full review

Installed this little guy behind my new single DIN mechless pioneer deck. Since i have the shaker 500 system and am still using the shaker subs, i opted to use the Pioneer RCA's for the factory subs and use the line level inputs to feed the Alpine powering the 4 full range speakers. The pioneer head unit was loud enough to begin with but adding the Alpine made everything so much louder and clearer. The Alpine does get a bit warm when in use but its negligible. I have the gain set at 25% and there's no need to go higher. All in all i am happy with my setup and would use the amp again. Install was pretty easy and straightforward. When i swap the shaker subs i will reconnect the RCA jacks to the alpine to see if there is any improvement in sound.

It was a nice Plug and Play and way too much wiring to try and put somewhere. Had to put wireloom on all of it for protection against the sharp edges of Civic dash braces. For my 2002 Civic LX sedan it would have fit better behind my accessory plug panel if it was a little shorter. I cut some 1/4" rubber pieces to put on the right and left side to protect the wires coming out of the amp from those sharp edges of the braces. It will only fit with the label facing outward(or 180 inward) since that is the thinnest dimension or the accessory plug will hit when installing that panel.

My previous car audio setup before adding this was alright but not great I could hit about 14 on the head unit (new alpine one) with brand new speakers before major distortion started to occur. After adding this it boosted the sound level at lower volumes as well as allows me to reach a higher level of sound before the distortion occurs. It is also great in that at least in my vehicle it can hide behind the head unit and not have to worry about running any wiring.
