I enjoyed this first story in Peg Cochran's "A Gourmet De-Lite" cozy series. GiGi Fitzgerald makes gourmet diet food for people trying to lose weight. Unfortunately, Martha Bernhardt, a local restaurant critic, is murdered when someone pours peanut oil over the Gourmet de-Lite salad GiGi fixed her....and Martha was highly allergic to peanuts. Naturally, GiGi is the main suspect. Throughout the story, Peg Cochran shows multi-faceted characters who could have reason to kill Martha Bernhardt; but only one had motivation enough to carry out the plan. Jealousy abounds, and lies fill the air, as GiGi and her best friend, Sienna, attempt to clear GiGi's name. A couple of possible love interests for GiGi; Detective Mertz; and Carlo, owner of the Italian restaurant are interesting characters. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series to see what develops!!Read full review
