KISS in 1977 was HOT!! They were in their prime. Christmas of 1977, one of my older brothers bought our first KISS album(vinyl record) for my younger brother and myself. We had already heard of KISS, but didn't know alot about them except that they wore makeup and costumes and acted wild onstage. We wore that record out, literally. I was 13 years old, impressionable, learning the guitar and learning what rock and roll was all about. Since that time, many other albums, cassettes, CD's, shirts, hats and countless other KISS items have been purchased. Today, I couldn't tell you where that KISS Alive II album is at, maybe gone forever, so I thought I would look on E-Bay to see if I could find it on CD. Bingo!! I got it, Wow!! talk about bringing back old memories, that done it. It's great, I listen to it often. If you can think of it, you want it, it can be found on E-Bay, ThanksRead full review
This is one of my all time favorite albums. Yes I still call it an album because that is what is was in the beginning. This remaster sounds great. Every live song from Detroit Rock City to Shout It Out Loud will bring back those those memories of jr. high/high school parties. I love it! The only thing i never liked about this album was the remake of Dave Clark Fives "Any Way You Want It". That song just does not fit the sound of KISS no matter how much volume and distortion the guitars have. I always liked the other studio cuts on this album, but really, I wish it would have been ALL live with more of the songs from the previous three albums. Either way this is still one the best live albums ever cut along with the original "KISS Alive","Frampton Comes Alive","Lynyrd Skynyrd One More From The Road" and the Outlaws "Bring It Back Alive".Read full review
Well, If your a KISS fan already, you know this is simply a collection of some of their late 70's material live. A few of these live tracks are really great but not necessarily "essential" (in my opinion). SHOCK ME, KING OF THE NIGHTIME WORLD, and HARD LUCK WOMAN are pretty good on this CD. Now, the ALIVE 75 is a MUST HAVE for any 70's hard rock fan in my opinion...anyhow, The best thing about ALIVE II (again, just my opinion) is the SIDE 4 studio recordings with Bruce Kulick. ALL AMERICAN MAN, ROCKIN IN THE USA, LARGER THAN LIFE and ROCKET RIDE are absolute essentials for the avid KISS fan....this CD is worth buying for the 5 studio tracks alone!!! G86
My very first Kiss Album. It is here when my best friend formerly introduced me to this great American rock group. Back then, we had 8 tracks, cassettes or albums. I use to listen to this cassette in my 71 Chevy Pick Up every day going to school in tenth grade. Although the sound quality is not the greatest, it is my favorite-recorded rock concert. The short solos of Ace and Peter gives me the goose bumps. The last five songs are a rare collection to have, “All American Men” and “Rocket Ride” are my favorite.
Brings back precious childhood memories when I owned this on LP. This showcases the bombast of Kiss as their live versions of some of their best songs shine here. Just an exciting, fun time for rock music lovers. Nice liner notes & photos included. A must-have for any fan!
