This is alien versus predator II , maybe I was expecting more based on how good the first one was . But this is good , on this one its not a space battle the predator crashes on earth and the military TRIES to defeat it ! If you collect movies or liked the first AVP you should see this !

I am tired after over 50 years of watching flicks to see another otherwise great movie turned into very poor relationship scenes and just dumb folks doing stupid everyday crap that is so meaningless it makes me keep fast forwarding it to find some alien action scenes. "B" actors at best, in my opinion, I would not have bought this but my wife wanted it. I would absolutely never watch it more than once. yeeeeek!

This is a well done flick. Unlike the 1st AVP which spent so much of the film setting up the AVP part, part 2 starts off right where part 1 ends and doesn't waste any time getting to the meat and tatters of the film! If you have seen AVP part 1 you will know right where things start. If not, and you are a fan of the alien movies, then odds are you will figure out what happened at the end of AVP1. If you haven't seen part 1, then you maybe a little lost. AVP2 has lots of aliens and the critters that go with them. Predator has added a few new tools to his weapons locker, but still has his old proven and trusty ones from predator 1 and 2. The FX is top shelf, A+ and believable! For me, that's the best part. As a over all movie, I give it a 7.5 out of 10. As an alien movie, 8. As a predator movie, 9! It moves at a steady, fast pace. But not so fast that you can't keep up. Over all, a good, fun sat. night movie!Read full review
This could have been a wonderful adventure. Instead what we're subject to is a flick that leaves one wondering where the story is. After all, what a wonderful adventure the lead up flicks were. Full of good suspense and a solid story line with a somewhat animated passion to boot. I had a hard time connecting to anyone in the movie. Thus leaving me not caring what the heck happens to anyone and the result is no involvement and no interest. It's way to compact in details which are all in darkness on top of a pace too fast to follow. In the end I'm left quite disappointed and not very entertained. I'm glad I saw this on DVD instead of wasting a night at the movies. Free time is too priceless to spend it on this flick. Sorry for being so harsh but, please! A little direction would have been nice. Rich LodatoRead full review
I should have learned my lesson the first time around. After the dismal first pairing of these two modern-day Horror/Sci-Fi icons failed to deliver, I should have realized that an unexpected sequel would do any better. However, this second time around does do better than it's first, but not enough to stop wishing for either an Alien 5 or Predator 3. Like a page from Casting 101, you have the typical parade of careless characters:The bad boy with brother, the sympathic cop, the solider coming home, and various family members searching for the rest of their clan. There's no time, or need, to care about them, but you figure you'd care about what's going to get them, being the A's and the P's. But honestly after a total of seven movies showing what these monsters do, you can't really be surprised like the first couple of times. Now granted, the Unrated version, of which I'm reviewing here, has a ton of graphic scenes, just how many times can a chest-burster or acid blood be impressive? And for a gore-hound like me to be actually bored with this should tell you something. And if that wasn't the worst of it, the Alien/Predator attacks happen mostly at night, and it looks like in the complete dark as well. 80% of all the scenes are so dark, it's hard to tell what you're looking at. And finally, it's ending is supposed to be some sort of prequel to either the original Alien or Predator films (according to the directors' commentary), but honestly I couldn't place how that could be. In my opinion, only to be viewed by die-hard fans of either franchise, or the seven people who found the first film entertaining. Oh, I almost forgot: remember the underwhelming "more human than Alien" Alien at the end of Alien:Resurrection? Well, if you can turn your brightness control high enough on your set, you'll see this film's equivalent, the PredAlien!!! Yeah, it's as bad as it sounds. (RedSabbath Rating:5.5/10)Read full review
