I recently lucked into purchasing a SamplePad pro from Unique-squared on EBay. I say luck because I bid on a used one and they sold in the brick and mortar store, so they offered me a Brand New one for the same price. I must say, I own the DM 10 real feel Alesis Kit and suffer the same problematic cross-talk issue that everyone does. I would integrate a couple real feel 12" pads into the acoustic kit for dance gigs so I could try to get a nice electronic BOOMY bass and some good CLAP samples into the mix. Well, the cross talk situation was terrible resulting in loss of some head strikes on the real feel drums with the DM10 controller. NOT WITH the SAMPLEPAD PRO!! Each and every strike on the pad is consistent and accurate. The decay, reverb, echo and such is fully adjustable so you control your pad sounds directly from the Pad Pro. No cross talk issues at all so far. I would suggest that you immediately UPDATE Flash-ware and that you download some better SAMPLEs from EBay or Amazon. Stay away from any Roland sample that don't follow the eight letter old DOS rules for file naming or you will be spending your entire weekend editing the names. The lighted pads are a cool feature and really assist in seeing the pads at darker stage gigs. I Suggest Alesis think about making the Digital screen much larger for us older drummers. Its hard to see without glasses or getting close to screen. I absolutely love the smaller elongated upper pads.. This makes the overall footprint of the pads smaller. A great plus when integrating with an acoustic kit! It also comes with footswitch, Kick pedal, and high hat inputs which makes it even more versatile. I REALLY WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE THREE PIN XLR OUTPUTS, Alesis ??? The MIDI is a plus Okay, Overall, This is an excellent setup for professional gigs and WAY CHEAPER than a Roland setup. So, 90% of the drummers out there will do well to get the Alesis instead. Not so much the Alesis kits though. Look at spending more for less frustration. ALESIS, FIX YOUR CROSS TALK ISSUES BY PUTTING IN BETTER PIEZOS!! But as for the SamplePad Pro? You guys knocked it outtada Da ParkRead full review

Great pad and somehow versatile. Very good response bu it has to be adjusted though. The default sensitiity value wasn't good for me. In terms of sound quality it is good enough. I'm happy. The only cons that I can say about it are: 1.- Change program response time: When changing sets, it takes quite some time to load them. Specially if the sample is somehow large. 2.- The hi-hat response isn't so good: probably I still need to work more on this but so far didn't work very well when connecting my roland Hihat controller. 3.- Since I'm a mac user, I can't change the name of the setup that I created in the SD card. Would be nice to have some software to load the programs in a visual way without having to explore every single file in the samplepad when creating kits.

For the price..it is awesome! I purchased this pad for practice and gig use. Very compact design makes it ultra portable and the quality of the pad is very decent. The SD slot is the killer! Most if not all of my sounds come from the SD card. And I almost forgot to mention the kick output! I imported some Roland, Yamaha, and Simmons kicks and the sound of my kick never sounded better! Can't wait to use it at a gig! $100 bucks...sheesh...I feel lucky! :)
