OK this is not a typical delay pedal, it's features are very basic but here's what's cool about it, it has a separate output for each of it's 4 delay 'heads'. That opens a ton of routing and effect combination possibilities, if you haven't figured it out yet just buy a cheap basic delay, oh and it's got a looper mode - I thought loopers were cool until a week after I bought one and realized how quick it gets boring. Bottom line: Good quality pedal but lacking in many of the features that other delay pedals have but has 5 outputs which is totally unique...

It is a great pedal. I bought it for the loop and of course the tape echo (which is awesome!!) The loop was a little bit disappointing because it does not have much memory, so you can not make long loops with it. Although loop effect has two moralities, the extended one (take a little bit of quality to the sound, because of the extension) and the short(better quality). About delay, it isn't the best delay I've tried, but it is a really good one. For delay i prefer Rogue Delay. Sometimes when i'm jamming and i step the switch, the pedal goes off for some reason (only with loop effect). I don't know if it is something on mine or if its with all pedals but that is an issue that i have.
The Akai E2 Head Rush is a nice effects pedal and functions as advertised. The delay is the best part and it is very easy to get the desired delat/echo tempo. There are features on this unit that I will probably never use like the sequential delay, which allows you to have up to 4 or 5 amps plugged into the unit and then that delay impulse hit each amp in sequence. My one complaint is that the looper only records for a very short time and I sometimes need more loop that the unit allows.
These are awesome pedals. The looper function allows you to play with ideas and I also like the tape delay sound. The Original DJ Store has these at a great price. Pedal is big though and if you have a pedal board with space issues I would still get this and put it on the floor. And remember that it is actually two pedals and if you have another delay pedal you can get reverb as reverb is just a bunch of delays.
When I upgrade, I'll look for a longer loop capacity. This one is a little short. But It's still handy for practice. .
