I like the plot where Morisato against the odds of Celestin and other goddesses still remains with the goddess Lady Belldandy after her mentor has tried to wipe Belldandys' memories of Keiichi. The love that keiichi and Belldandy that is slowly developing is proving to be a very unbreakable bond so far. I know they both have a binding contract to be at each others side; I think there is true love and affection for one another that even if the contract is nulled they will still be together in physical form and spirit. I beleive things will work out with Keiichi and Belldandy through there trials of living in the human and the spiritual world. I also like that this DVD shows people if love is ment to happen it will endure over time and be rewarding in any situation a person is put in no matter how dire the trials are. Take just one moment at a time when you deal with life. I have not watch this DVD over and over much to get a perspective of a distastefulness opinion on a certain subject or feature I dislike. I decided to buy this DVD to add to my collection because I really like the grace and kindness that Belldandy portrays as an ideal goddess that takes life and makes it more enjoyable with whoever she is around in this program. This DVD really uplifts my spirit each time I watch this series and the movie as well.Read full review
Anyone who has read the manga or seen the original OVA of Ah! My Goddess! will love this movie. The crystal-clear animation and riveting plot keep watchers on the edges of their seats and cheering for Keichi and Belldandy through and through! A long-lost friend, now turned enemy of all the forces of Heaven, threatens to destroy the Yggdrasil system, and is willing to erase Belldandy's memories of Keichi to do it! Favorite characters appear in their finest performance since the original OVA, including Urd, Skuld, Peorth, Sora, and Hasegawa. Watch as the Fay princess Morgan aids Belldandy's former mentor Celestin in his diabolical plot to overthrow the forces of Heaven, and keep your eyes open as Urd, Belldandy, and Skuld take the fight to them, clashing in a battle to save both Heaven and Earth, and revealing for the first time the battle standards of the three sisters and the awesome powers at their command!Read full review
Ever since Toonami (Cartoon Network) introduced me to anime, I've been entranced with some of the finest animations ever created overseas...this is definitely one of them! For those unfamiliar with the background of the characters, Keiichi Morisato, a college student who always seemed to run into a bit of bad luck, accidently phones the Goddess Help Line. After a misguided wish he ends up having a goddess, Belldandy, as his girlfriend. Two more goddess, Urd and Skuld, eventually leave heaven to live with the happy couple as well. This movie takes place several years after the intial contact between Belldandy and Keiichi. Shortly after reintroducing us the quiet lifestyles of the two, Belldandy runs into her former mentor Celestin and soon becomes infected with a virus that causes her to loose her memory. Keiichi will stop at nothing to help Belldandy, but finds out that there's much more to this virus than just memory loss. All of heaven may be in danger if it isn't stopped soon! From Skuld's spunky attitude to Urd's devilish flirting to Belldandy's soft and calming voice, the characters have been well-casted and hold true to their manga (comic book) style personalities. But, by far the most stunning aspect is the animation. I watch this DVD over and over again just to catch a glimpse of some of the spectaular backgrounds, colors, and details that went into this 90 minute movie. Fans of the series 'Ah! My Goddess!' will appreciate the many side characters that until now have only appeared in the manga series. And for those who are new to the series, you'll be instantly hooked when you catch a glimpse of the humor, action, and drama crammed into this movie. The only possible negative would be for those who aren't too familar with the series. With no background on Yggdrasil (heaven) and some of the side characters, you may be scratching your head asking 'What was that?' on several scenes. But, this would be just more incentive to delve into some of the earlier OVA seasons and comics of 'Ah! My Goddess!' to see what you've been missing! Overall, a stunning movie that is packed with typical 'Ah! My Goddess' action, romance, and yes, even humor. A few scenes may borderline on questionable, but even young viewers should enjoy the animation and characters from one of the best anime movies ever created!Read full review
This was about the test of there bond of love. It bite different from the Comic. I don't recall about the anime dvd. It was good story.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I really like the packaging of the dvd, with the extra case covering the actual case where the dvd comes. The artwork is very nice and the inside image (seen thru the transparent case), is beautiful. The quality of the movie is excellent, and the sound too. I don't know the difference with the DTS version but from the special features that I have researched, there is no difference. In general this movie is worth buying. Nice presentation and features.
