Agatha Raisin is returning to Carsley after working as a free lance writer in London for a month. She keeps to herself since her divorce and doesn't even try to meet her new neighbor, Paul Chatterton. Agatha is approached by her new handsome neighbor while she is out in her garden. As they begin to talk, he asks her help in investigating a haunted house. Agatha agrees. The old house seems fine to her, but then a mist appears in the living room at night and Agatha runs scared! Not long after, Agatha learns that the woman who owns the place is found dead. She and her neighbor, Paul, attend the inquest and learn the woman was murdered. The two of them decide to do some sleuthing and find that the woman had her fair share of enemies, including her own children! Agatha digs deeper into the case and almost ends up getting killed in the process. Agatha is a middle-aged woman is is more cranky than nice most of the time. She loves getting her own way, no matter what it takes, which leads to some funny stuff!Read full review
