This CD is part one of a two part set featuring one of America's greatest popular vocalists of the twentieth century. Here he is featured as pianist and vocalist with his trio which included Oscar Moore (guitar and vocal) and Johnny Miller (bass and vocal). It is also worth mentioning that these five "live" programs which were recorded by The Armed Forces Radio Service for distribution to post W. W. II military bases around the world to boost the moral of men who thought their job was done and that they would soon be returning home, also contains some notable high profile stars of the day including: Stan Kenton, Earl Hines, Cab Calloway, Woody Herman, Johnny Mercer and The Dinning Sisters. That and the fact that this CD contains some Forty tracks, many rarities and a running time of over seventy eight minutes makes this a highly collectible item.
