Advanced Engineering Mathematics By Erwin Kreyszig Edition: 8th Kreyszig’s new edition of Advanced Engineering Mathematics is a great book for students in the engineering or mathematics fields. It can serve as a handy reference manual for working engineers too. It is a comprehensive book with practical illustrations accompanying the main concept. Though it covers all the topics of the subject, I would not suggest it for beginners who have been out of touch and are kind of raw where the basics are concerned. What I would like to add is that if your Math is not strong, you will be frustrated in no time trying to work out the missing steps as the author assumes you know the basics. Otherwise it is an excellent book for students who would like to learn the ins and outs of Engineering Mathematics. This book will save you time as it is a tremendous book for reference in the sense that if you are stuck with a problem and want to recollect the theorem or formula you just need to refer to this book, find the formula you are looking for and continue with your coursework. I would say that the book is an asset to an Engineering student and a must have for University Libraries.Read full review
I thought that by purchasing the eighth edition of the text versus the more recent version I would getting a lackluster reference text. However, this text is amazing! It covers everything from Calc 1, Calc2, Calc 3, statistics, PDE's, and Fourier Series to name a few; the list goes on and on. If you've every found yourself spending hours online trying to find out how to apply the Dirac Delta functions or just forget some Laplace Transforms then this is the text is the text for you! It is a very well written, comprehensive text that anyone could make use of in their fields of study.
This is an excellent textbook that covers a range of mathematical modeling areas. Though there is a reason why the title is "Advanced" Engineering Mathematics – this textbook is not for beginners as it covers some advanced mathematical methods, and assumes you know basic engineering mathematics first. It is probably the most popular and most referred to textbook on the subject, if you use it for postgraduate study it will be a great reference book or a helpful tool while first learning about those lovely pdes in your late undergraduate study. Highly recommended!
I bought this book because I had no choice I'm taking the class so I need it! I don't think anyone really dives into a book thike this, but if your really intrested in mathmatical modeling and simulation of engineering systems, and the application of fouier series and partial differentioal equations to engineering problems, then this is the book for you!
